  2. holy lol at gal. This is so sweet. You know those cards that, like, when you turn them one way theyre one picture and when you hold it the other way it's another? You should do that on the van so that you can have to 4x huge murals. Wizards riding dragons that are burning ladies clothes that are made out of snakes that are shooting poison that is naked ladies that are unicorns who are being ridden by gal etc

  3. Went for an evening cruise up One Tree Hill and back last night. Car drove like a champ - she loves hooning around the back streets. A chauffeur driving a pristine white wedding Rolls Royce even stopped to point Maggie out to the bride to be. Here's some eye candy to keep the thread alive. Chur

  4. painted up the inside of the sill with some etch primer. Untitled by sheepers-ra28, on Flickr then fucked around for ages trying to get the new sill piece to fit right. in the end its not prefect, its got a twist in the top piece right at the end of the door which is a bit shit but its there now. you won't see it when its finished but yea, i was a bit pissed off with getting it wrong. Untitled by sheepers-ra28, on Flickr then i made the back part of the sill and welded that in. i haven't finished welding it yet but its pretty close. Untitled by sheepers-ra28, on Flickr Untitled by sheepers-ra28, on Flickr with a bit of luck ill get some more done tomorrow.

  8. Our next meet will be graced with the presence of some members from the Christchurch precinct, So Alex and I have decided that we will have a delightful bbq at Kaiteriteri beach on Saturday the 2nd of May. I will do the usual start point at WOW. 12:00pm leave around 12.15, cruise out to Kaiteriteri Alex, how about you organize the Motueka crew to meet at the clock tower at say... 12.30? We can then do a larger convoy out to kaiteriteri beach. Rain location will be at the Riwaka Tavern. (I wont put that on the FB post) I only took a few pics of our last meet, which was small but still contained good quality vehicular discussions. Here are the pics anyway

  13. Howdy all So as some of you know I sold all projects last year( apart from a bike I'm building) and to be honest I wasn't really looking for a he project. Anyway a mate rang me to ask if I know of anyone wanting a mk2 Tina.......I asked around and no takers........so fucking bang it turned up on Wednesday..... Even drove it of the truck So its 1970 ( I think) mk2 cortina 1600 super. Pretty much the least amount of rust in a ford shell I've bought in the past 8 years....even the ciggy lighter worked. Sat in a shed since 1988 So I stripped it down and cleaned the years off it Got up Saturday stripped the rest of the running gear and made a spit . mounted it to start on the underside And that's as it sits at the moment

  15. Well Iv gone and done it... Iv brought a housebus to be cool like Alex and Hannah. Its a ex Army, ex SBL 1986 Hino ranger rocking a EH700 6.4 Litre diesel I get the impression the guy that started this conversion was doing a really good job but suddenly got the urge to finish it quickly/untidily. The good thing about it is that I don't feel bad for pulling some it apart to modify it This must be all part of the housebus starter kit! The current line up Let me know your thoughts/suggestions/experiences as ALL the systems need to be done Chur!

  17. maybe keep it off facebook, i feel the meets have lost the close-knit oldschool.co.nz vibe they use to have, it feels more like a friday night pre skids meet up.

  21. Wow... looking back at the things ive "been into" and the things ive done the this GX61 its actually getting me down... lol. Reading the bullshit gayarse comments about rotas being cool and stickerbomb going on I wonder if I was abusing the bulb abit to much :/ hahahaha. If there is anything I have learned from the other Members posting comments saying "just get genuine wheels and slam it job done" im sorry I should have listened to you then I look back an ill admit I didn't do this GX any justice. Time has gone on and my views on the whole "drift spec everything" and "rota wheels hard!!!" Have completely changed. I know now that the car doesn't need a whole lot to look good. So ive gone back to the drawing board an began to rewrite the fate of this old beast..... some of you may still disprove of the choices im going to do but that tends to happen now and again. But youll be pleased to know that only meaningful stuff is getting done to it. Yes I may be a bit "gay" but im trying to do it justice but still keep it "my" car and if any of you actually know me you'll know im abit "out there" to say the least hahaha. Anyway I will be posting more and adding pics more often because work on this beast has resumed. If anyone actually still gives a shit chuck a post on the discussion page of this thing lol. Other than that I'll just be here doing my own thing

  25. Was really hopefull, but unfortunately it didn't make any change. Rode scooter to and from work a couple of times last week and once I got it started, it ran sweet! Would do about 45kmh on the flat at WOT! But still be a pig to start. Decided this morning to pull the carb off, strip it and give it a clean out. Found a blocked idle?choke? jet Soaked the jets in carb cleaner and cleaned the rest of it out while they were soaking then blew them out. Re assembled the carb and put it back on. Connected fuel lines, and primed the fuel system. IT LITERALY STARTED FIRST KICK AND IDLED PERFECT. Left it for a hour and tried again. still first kick! Left it for two hours. First kick Took for a Hoon and according to my GPS speed logger I downloaded maxed out at 64kmh (must've been on a slope with a tail wind!) and had average speed of 40kmh.... Sweet! Only thing I noticed was that the indicators stopped working, checked battery voltage and it's flat flat. Checked charging rate, is about 6v at idle and goes up to 8v at WOT. That seems about right? Battery's currently on charge, I'm not sure if I left the ignition on by mistake so will disconnect it when I park it and see if it still flattens it. Turns out that it's missing the filter out of the housing. So gonna go find some filter foam and make a new one next week. SO KEEN FOR SCOOTING TOO AND FROM WORK

  26. pulled the deck off today. have 50mm of rake now measured from either ends of sills on cab. so shitloads over whole truck. i did some super dodgy measuring before i pulled apart. measured from under the diff with wheels on. rear was approx 600kg. should loose a big chunk of that by the time im finished. Have some parts on the way from usa but more on that later... Pile as of today, minus wood off deck: actually some of that will go back on. keeping the outer frame, so can continue confusing angry farmers Because boring update; Bonus Video. mostly same as ones above, but with some kp and bmw action

  27. Great work; such wood. I have a feeling that I used to go to school on this bus. The blue engine cover looks very familiar. Any idea when it was taken out of service as a school bus?

  28. Yeah, impedance likely won't match but can always series/parallel some to make it work. I just used a 12v battery and 12v current limited PSU with adjustment to make a makeshift charger and ran all car gear from the battery and was ace... Just s bit big and hard to move

  41. Progress has been made.. been stripping it back to a bare shell so it can be sandblasted. Reason for this is to tidy up the whole body and allow everything to be painted mint. Rear windows out Pretty much made a massive mess of my shed pulling everything apart. Need to spend a good day water blasting all the dirty crap that came out I bought this seat off dad for the passenger seat. It's a racetech 4000 so the ol d 4009.. has been re foamed and covered not long ago so is in brand new condition. Only issue being the blue gel coat.. have stripped the seat so I can paint this black after I get back from holiday. Got doors and panels sandblasted. Didn't realise how much bog was in the front panels. These ones are rooted so I've sent my spare set down to get blasted which look to be in a bit better condition. Really happy with how the blasting came out did an awesome job and will def make the painting process easier.

  42. Mark got the engine back together and it's up and running again, as promised. I picked it up tonight, and will be getting it re-dynotuned before I take it to another track day soon. A short test drive showed that the car runs a lot smoother than before, and definitely has more power/torque down below. Smells wicked on Mark's premix too.

  48. Got the turbo manifold today!!!!! Looks so dope, with the Genuine Tial wastegate and screamer pipe. Its made From seamless steampipe all TIGed up. Alittle over built and over the top for what im doing with it. Looks so dope though. Heres some pics. The turbos going to have to have a 90 degree on it so it doesnt interfair with the distributor Haha. So I may weld a 60 Degree alloy bend on it. Who knows what will happen haha. Hopefully next post will be of it with the wheelspacers on or with a turbo on it. Cheers.
