But I think we can move on from this topic for now - I reckon it'll be legal with some minor modifications... 2 Quote
tortron Posted September 10, 2019 Posted September 10, 2019 You could go a bit different and have the brake lights in the headlamp trim ring. Quote

spanners Posted September 13, 2019 Posted September 13, 2019 Yo cleeeeetus. My van was certified for a wheelchair hoist which I have removed. No other mods at all. Can I remove the plate? Xx Quote
cletus Posted September 13, 2019 Posted September 13, 2019 Kia ora te spanners Your waka will need to be looked at by a certifier , plate removed, sent back to LVVTA who then update landata so it doesnt say its modified any more. Chur Bleh 6 1 Quote

It's just hardware store pop rivets holding it on, isn't it? Most importantly, will anyone ever know and will I get hassles from wof inspectors Quote

oldrx Posted September 15, 2019 Posted September 15, 2019 Do you need to have reverse lights hooked up for cert/wof? (I did search this thread and the LVV documents - couldnt find anything specific either way. I did 'see Cletus mention you don't legally need reverse gear (you probably should!?) but if do have the gear and not the corresponding illumination - fail or all good?) Quote
AllTorque Posted September 15, 2019 Posted September 15, 2019 Reverse lights are not needed for a wof 3 Quote

AllTorque Posted September 15, 2019 Posted September 15, 2019 https://vehicleinspection.nzta.govt.nz/virms/in-service-wof-and-cof/general/lighting/reversing-lamps They don’t have to work, but can’t have a hole in the lens or a stuffed reflector 1 1 Quote
kws Posted September 15, 2019 Posted September 15, 2019 Interesting, it used to be that if it were there, it had to work (wife got failed on it years ago) but obviously changed now. Quote
