moparmuppet Posted October 4, 2024 Posted October 4, 2024 My daughter built 1 in @Willdat? s class a few years ago using 4 light detecting diodes, arduino switched on every half hr, running Chinese 40 to 1 motors onto a couple of gearboxes for electric window regulators. Safety cams and switches to limit movement if a bird takes a dump on the diodes. 7 1 Quote

Popular Post Geophy Posted October 21, 2024 Popular Post Posted October 21, 2024 My grandads wheelbarrow. Was a man that did everything by hand on a hilly property with the wheelbarrow. Had mixed up many cubes of concrete until he got too soft at 87 then he brought a concrete mixer. Was a little worse for wear and tyre was toast so disassembled for a blast and paint down the line, factory colour tub and frame in chassis black. Spent $10 more then a garbage tyre from M10 on a 3.00x8 Shinko scooter tyre, was a bitch to get on but now have a tyre even when flat that has a stiff enough carcass to be pushed around. Good for 100kg at over 80kph so good enough for home. Button head stainless cap screws because im shallow and like stuff like that Is going down to my sister in Gisborne so good to see it get another life. 46 Quote

Popular Post 63Ragtop Posted October 22, 2024 Popular Post Posted October 22, 2024 Had two small wins this evening. Bought a d link Ethernet over power thing for the garage and actually got it to work! Wasn't sure because second hand and the shed has its own circuit. Really pleased with this hack job, I bought this anglepoise style lamp on a wim on trade me, didn't realize it was mules away and payed more in freight. Got it home plugged it in and some lightning jumped out of the cracked transformer! So I converted to a nice friendly 12 volt LED system. Probably better than the tiny fluro tube, and the switch even works. 21 Quote

Not gonna be able to get any work done if you don't get it vinyl wrapped to protect the paint 1 4 Quote

GARDRB Posted October 28, 2024 Posted October 28, 2024 @Dudley is working on my car so I don’t have to, but it means I’m in the shed doing jobs I’ve been putting off. I hung the air hose reel that I bought about a year ago so I don’t have to coil and uncoil the hose all the time. Thread taped all the air fittings everywhere, and coz the sand blaster drops sand everywhere every time you open the door I made this little shelf for the sand to land on 9 Quote

Nah, I cracked one of the compression nuts on the big compressor chasing air leaks today so had to grab the baby compressor Quote

Popular Post HKM400 Posted November 10, 2024 Popular Post Posted November 10, 2024 I’ve been experimenting with copper artwork things, same friend who does the veneer patterns showed me some tricks. Pattern router cut into a piece of mdf, copper shim rolled on and then pressed into the grooves. Then discoloured the copper with various chemical reactions. Finished with shellac to seal them up. Went ok for a first go even though I fucked up some of the joins in the copper. Made another one, I’m a fan of geometric stuff so dug the compass out of the pencil case and drew this up. Discoloured this one a bit more, then added some paint and did a final chemical application, sanded and sealed with shellac again. Paid to get it framed, quite happy with it. Up close the colour is more obvious 31 Quote
Popular Post Raizer Posted November 15, 2024 Popular Post Posted November 15, 2024 I made the alloy frame (3 piece that bolts together) and the stays + brackets etc etc for some signage on a shop in town, nothing to fancy but was a good change from mowing lawns ha! Added a few stays to the front panels today, not pictured. 12 Quote
