tortron
Don't tell anyone, but I have been reusing the same GN125 headgasket for several times. Just clean it off with thinners and smear on some hylomar blue. It's just a single layer metal one
sentra
does anyone know why small vertical shaft engines make so much less power than horizontal engines he same cc do they grind the cams for lawnmower rpms?
RUNAMUCK
This is not a subject im familiar with tbh. Maybe fuck with the governor spring to raise the rpms? My 7.5hp loncin is 229cc.
HighLUX
Might be a duty cycle thing Lawnmower runs for short bursts usually, hour or 2 max every couple of weeks where as a horizontal shaft engine is gunna be powering a pump/genny/whatever for tanks at a time so detuned for reliability? yoeddynz
I think horizontal shaft motors spin slower and more steady like because any faster and the long canvas belt will pop off and then necessitate Barry to have to put is mug of tea down, clamber out from his $10 fold up chair and urgently wobble over to shut that damn thing down before the display is ruined. 3 1

Goat
Does anyone know of a good cheap source or have hookups for stainless exhaust pipe combo bends. I'm after some 1.75" combos to build some extractors. I've found this guy, but he's out of stock, and hasn't replied to my queries as of yet. https://fabdepot.co.nz/products/304-stainless-steel-uj-combo-bend?_pos=1&_sid=51671a6fe&_ss=r&variant=40937386737829

Goat
Chairs dudes, Have had a look at ali too. @yoeddynz Are they decent, some of the reviews seemed a bit ham. Will snoop to see if i can find any sections of straight tube too.
yoeddynz
I went to my local friendly pet engineer and grabbed some short lengths of stainless tube there.
GregT
For years stainless in odd sizes has not been imported. I needed a chunk of 1 5/8in tube for a customer bike exhaust. Customer was going to Oz on business so I did some ringing around over there and he wound up hand carrying 2m of tube back with him. Autobend ChCh bent it for me and wanted to know where I'd got it from. Their suppliers in NZ wouldn't bring in what they wanted. 1
Nominal
@fletch How big a generator would I need to start/run this water pump? The little 1kw Honda I got from my folks won't do it.
