Brother is going out into business on his own. He brought a ridiculously huge van, big enough to human traffic at least 40 Russian brides in.

He wants to transport his kitchen bench tops in it, so I've spent today making him this:

 

And test fitting in the mega van:

 

 

It's going to get painted, more 18mm plywood on the floor (under the carpet) and wood slats tech screwed to it for the tie downs to hold onto...but you get the idea. I'll leave that stuff for him to finish as it's just paint and screws and he's more than capable of doing that.

And today's efforts for the same cause (keep brother happy). A huge materials rack.

Start with this...end up with that:

I made a wooden jig to help keep everything the same.

String lines to get alignment squared away.

 

And in place in a 40ft shipping container.

 

He'll paint it next week, along with the van rack.

Solved one of the first world problems we have with our outdoor furniture lately.

After browsing mitre 10/Bunnings and not finding any decent quality options that aren’t $500+ made me decide to build one instead.

Built a frame then stained some ply and slapped it on the outside.

Edit: how do you embed/upload multiple pics? I’ve been struggling along only adding 2 pics to each of my posts to fit under the size limit but surely there’s a better way!??

I only use mobile phone for everything.  I create a text message to myself, then hold down and save those images. From there they're already resized...and you can upload multiple photos from the folder they end up in.

to save the OS bandwidth I use Imgur as much as possible

These projects always take way longer than expected. If it wasn’t a good winter project to chip away at I should have just paid the money and bought one in hindsight...

at this stage contact the Trellis Outdoor Centre in Tauranga, they are the first Heat pump boxes I've seen with my Panels

(or any local handy man / Trellis manufacturer should be able to "knock one up")

Hole is probably too high for it to be used as a bong..
but what I really wanted to comment is, as someone who has experience cutting glass etc, that is IMPRESSIVE that he managed that with a hand drill !
