Valiant
instead of using a roller to bend it try a cylinder cut in half lengthwise to spread the load. Might help avoid the kink?
Popular Post KP_wag
Pics of one of this summers projects... Been wanting to make a sth american asado rack for ages, then one came up on trademe cheap so snapped it up (so no fab to show off there). Needed to make a firepit to use it though, and because asado requires epic low and slow action, came up with this pit and windbreak in one: That worked so well that I rebuilt it, this time properly levelled with more 'patio'. Also built some outdoor furniture out of some macrocarpa sleepers, came out pretty good and should last a while, they are fucken heavy

Popular Post Rhyscar
Sweet little project for the day to make more useable work and storage space in the shed. Had an old kitchen unit just taking up space and holding the toolbox up. Wasn’t very useable had a warped soggy mdf top on it. I had a lot of extra bits and pieces jammed into other corners of the shed that needed a home and weren’t very well stored Picked up some offcuts of ply off a friend and made a new bench top for it. The ply was 12mm so decided to double thickness it with the help of some no more nails.. By the time I pulled the old top off half of it was rotten and junk so rebuilt it with some old wood I had lying around. Quick trip to Bunnings and got some storage bins for like $7ea to fit into the shelves as deep drawers. Pretty happy with the result and didn’t really cost me anything. Feels like a successful Sunday project!

Popular Post Kimjon
I've been doing a bit on the impala lately. Nothing major...just a few touch ups here and there. Then I unpicked the birds nest of wires and loomed it all back as tidy as possible, but definitely not "deloomed", as that's just too painful to deal with when shit goes bad. Engine painted, and touched up the engine bay, chassis and guards etc while at it. Once again, presentable...but not show car pretty. I spaced out the radiator by about 4mm, as it was just touching the hood and rubbing. Probably been like that forever, fixed now. I added an overflow bottle to remove the jap car spec one that was wedged in between two giant horns the size of a turbo! Horns now gone too...smaller one replaced it. I'll remove the anodizing off the overflow lid, as I don't like the colour. The boot had some surface rust spots showing, that I was concerned about. I hit these back with the wire wheel and was pleased to find nothing but healthy panel steel underneath. It's a really good body on this car, so I sprayed it to protect it. not a lot to report really...but more love than its seen in a wee while.

Maybe in the future when I do something super cool on a car. Here's another random thing to do. Sick of lose stuff in the boot, I finally got motivated to do something about it. The nutsert has to be one of the coolest things invented. However my gun is Chinese junk and is teetering on the edge of braking everytime I use it. Bolted in place. I put 4x little feet under it to raise it off the floor a little just in case the boot ever leaks, I didn't like the idea of a place for rust to form. I used 3x washers to go between the toolbox where the bolts go through to stop the bolts distorting the toolbox too much. Its rock solid now. Then I bent up a "J" hook on the manual bender, to hold the spare tyre where its supposed to go. And using a washer and wingnut secured it in place. Now I have a basic assortment of tools to get me out of a tricky situation on the side of the road, plus still enough room in the boot to hide at least 7 bodies, some moonshine, a shovel and a bag of lime. I'm happy, should provide minimum peace of mind for trips away.
Popular Post tortron
Dragged my marina engine in out of the rain. I figured I may as well bang it on an engine stand to keep some floor space usable. Flywheel needs to come off. Well I'm getting pretty deep into Morris ownership. You can buy the tool for idk like £20 plus's postage. So I made one, why not. A series flywheel lock tool. Will fit minis as well. Works with or without gearbox attached. 8mm plate cut to 6" Holes drilled about 5" apart to fit the starter bolts and holes I cut a piece of 20mm rod 2.25" long and then cut a quarter out of it lengthways in my bandsaw. I then cut a strip of 5mm plate to make the tooth. This is quite close to the tooth profile, so just a few minutes shaping it with a sander. Then welded the strip to the rod, and the rod to the plate Works well
