sounds like something right up your ally. chisel the old one in half and then heat the new one up and slip on

Nah you just pop it off, stick the flywheel in the freezer, turn the ring gear over, file on the leading edge of the tooth for the pinion to.mesh with with a cut off disc. Warm the ring up and stick it on the other way around.

Doubles the life of it

Bearings for the 8ba are easier and cheaper to get and it has the normal shell big end bearings, and modern bellhousing, also it has one pice valve guide and straight stem valves, SBC valves will fit right in, fingers crossed it’s still good inside.

It's in my 51 Ford, so I guess whatever that is.

Also acquired this today, was running earlier in the week. Hopefully it is Merc size - came from a Merc and has 8CM heads.

Sweet , that’s the golden idol if it’s a Mercury, I see it’s got a triple carb manifold, that thing will eat up the road, ditch the auto I reckon

That's pretty cool. Way better than the turbo 3.8 van I've seen around.

A flat head v8 would fit in well because they are so small, if you had the v860 you could fit it in anything as it’s the worlds smallest v8
