Complete mirror, or just glass? Glass should be available from Mitsi dealer pretty cheap, maybe even whole mirror. NZ/JDM models are Z21 to Z27 depending on spec. If you let me know rego I can check P&A.

Thank you, it’s the whole mirror, but I think it could be fixed with a new glass and outer cover, I think the wreckers might have one. Not entirely, but you could use it for knock sensing.https://www.vehicular.isy.liu.se/Publications/Lic/02_LIC_962_IA.pdf As i read this i have no idea how to couple a high voltage coil to it or to a sensitive analogue input i'd likely use without frying something. NickJ
Got shown this over the weekend, surprised I don't recall seeing it before, as its right confusing and cool at the same time.
Guest
Yes that is cool and makes so much sense. Will have to watch it again, cheers!
Bling
Ball joint grease, does it matter what you use? Internet says complex lithium, local mechanic uses general grease. I have general grease, but want to be sure they'll last. What say you OS? Much easier for me to just use what I have as I only have one grease gun. The grease I have is probably budget stuff too. So i'd potentially buy new grease anyway, but keen to know which type.
oldrx7
I've always used the general grease / whatever grease is in the gun, never had problems, but then again I've never owned a car more than 2-3 years after replacing them.

Be more focused on the boot sealing well to make sure nothing gets in there. we’re had some guys at work put the wrong grease in robots that spec high grade lithium. Meant to get changed once a year or every 10khrs... a lot out there go waaaay past that with the wrong grease and tbh we’ve never had an issue

Yowzer
I've always converted my points cars to 12V coils. No idea if one is better than the other, but modern coils can pack a lot more punch than they used to.
kws
I have both here, So I guess there is no advantage to keeping the old ballast system and just run the 12v coil.
Roman
I need to remake some radiator hoses, has anyone used the mackay flex hoses? Are they as strong as normal ones?
ajg193
Anyone have techstream working with an aurion? Flatmate got a dodgy chinese techstream and it detects the car is a GSV with 2GR-FE but only lists camrys and lexi as options. Picking camry of the date range and OTHER doesn't get any data from the ECUs @AllTorque, you a toyota master?
AllTorque
Aurion badge is only used in Australia and NZ. Everywhere else they are V6 Camry. Our cars are Aussie built, so you want to find the TMCA option. Try every option, something should connect. Maybe ES350. Does the Techstream connect to other cars?
ajg193
We've got it to connect and show stuff but as soon as we click data list the software crashes. Same behavior in xp and windows 7. We will need to find someone else with a modern Toyota to test it on some time Active tests crash too Nothing wrong with the car, we just want to play with data view
Bling
What type of bolts would you use on critical car parts? High tensile 8.8 suitable? Any particular coating to avoid / go for? One example is steering connection to rack, thread has seen much better days.
