SunnyCoupe
Did the maths and got 14L / 100k...That sound right for a standard Hemi 245? Mr Mk1? Bart? Also made me happy having the anglia in my rear vision mirror all the way to culverden, sorry I didn't stop for the 121 on the side of the road but I don't think I had enough gas to get back up to highway speeds at that point. Felixx - straight up manliest man since Willie Apiata.

Felixx - straight up manliest man since Willie Apiata.  That's around 19mpg. Which is about right. Those email built carter 2bbl carbs were a bit hit and miss. Some of those 245 rangers were ruthless on gas. (Like 22-24mpg) My last daily val was a 245. I remember that being pretty decent on gas. (It had a fucked front seal in the trans, and if I dooorted it, it would pump out all the ATF and lose drive) The POS BW type 35 slushbox will no doubt be costing you a few mpg's too.  @lownslow, FFS, Watch out for rocks. That road is dangerous!
yetchh
It's a fucken sweet gravel road, NZ's longest, you can go in just north of seddon, do the molesworth leg then do the Wairau/Hamner hyrdo rd and come out near lake Rotoiti, nearly 250kms of Gravel.. need a permit for both legs tho..

yoeddynz
I left the turnaround point first to head back to hanmer so to get road to myself. Was most fun in a 'not so low viva with not so stiff springs' I felt like penti only not so quick...
