EURON8
Please excuse the crappy phone pics uploaded to facebook then saved then uplaod on photobucket. Quick before and after of the preparational demo work Tara and I did last Sunday. My dad showed up Monday morning to get started. All the lower deck removed and new bearers and posts going in. Because the new lower piece is so much bigger we decided it should be lower so we arent towering above the neighbours fences, Besides it doesnt need to be as high as it was. slammed deck, yeah i did it. End of the first day. all the bearers in This is what it looked like this afternoon after 6 days working on it. Technically monday was our only full day, the others were half to 3/4 days due to late starts and phucking around/SUUUUUPER hot days of impossible to work in sun. Still have the step between the 2 levels to build. The steps from lower down to lawn and likely some skirting to close it all in. Oh and seating/fencing around most edges. Will be good to finally have a permenant fence to keep the dog out of the vege garden instead of the plastic mesh / pallet combination seen in the first picture.
EURON8
Oh and the table/pink blanket/saw horse thing... place your bets now as to its purpose. hint: its not a pile of crap - it is going to serve a great purpose at least tomorrow maybe for a little while longer

UTERUS
Did you consider cutting down the existing posts and having the whole deck one level, then steps into the house?
EURON8
nope. always were only going to reskin top deck. its nice stepping out onto same level. Top piece will get covered in so we have a winter proof outdoor area.
Bling
10/10, looks wicked! You can't beat a big deck for entertaining! Used to use mine for that, but these days i'm more "get off my deck" spec. What's next on the to do list after deck?
xsspeed
My vote would go to some nice wooden french doors to compliment deck, but they be pricey iirc Deck looks good guys A+
EURON8
we have a se of wooden doors to replace the allot ones. too bad we cant put anything bigger in. there is a wall to the left of the door.
KIRK
good job. client of mine has recently built deck ut of similar looking wood and she's oiled it instead of stain etc. Like cricket bat spec linseed oil or something. looks and smells lush as fuck

EURON8
Wee teaser of some planting and building I've done last couple of weekends. Ill do a proper update tomorrow Only threw my toys once when I was lying under the edge of deck nailing on a packer and knocked the chisel off. Sconed me right on my eyebrow hurt like shit. Luckily it was the handle end but its not a small chisel. Dog is still getting use to new backyard access steps.
