karmagedon Posted July 11, 2010 Posted July 11, 2010 Thats so lush. However, this topic has come up once or twice on forums before, and people seemed to approve that there would be a lack of torque for use in a car. Will be interesting to see how it does once it's running. Quote

Will be interesting to see how it does once it's running. They actually work quite well in a small car. There are 2 - 3 rally cars in NZ that do very well with Hayabusa engines... Anything below 800kg will move OK and 6 gears makes up for the lack of torque. That 240 project is sweet! Quote

10Speed Posted September 15, 2010 Posted September 15, 2010 building a replica of a 1919 Excelsior. This is a bike with no surviving examples. There are a scant few photos of the bike, all of them from the right side. Armed with the photos and a partial engine case, he set about building the bike. The frame is easy enough, but engineering a overhead-cam V-twin from scratch, from a photo, that’s something else. There is no surviving engine to copy. There is no archive of technical drawings. Just a photo. Madness. http://www.flashbackfab.com/pages/excel00.html Quote
