Thats so lush. However, this topic has come up once or twice on forums before, and people seemed to approve that there would be a lack of torque for use in a car. Will be interesting to see how it does once it's running.

They actually work quite well in a small car. There are 2 - 3 rally cars in NZ that do very well with Hayabusa engines... Anything below 800kg will move OK and 6 gears makes up for the lack of torque.

That 240 project is sweet!

building a replica of a 1919 Excelsior. This is a bike with no surviving examples. There are a scant few photos of the bike, all of them from the right side. Armed with the photos and a partial engine case, he set about building the bike. The frame is easy enough, but engineering a overhead-cam V-twin from scratch, from a photo, that’s something else. There is no surviving engine to copy. There is no archive of technical drawings. Just a photo. Madness.
