wanting to create a new exhaust & tip but i've heard rumors that your exhaust isn't allowed to extend further than your bumper? True? if not how far is it allowed to protrude past? (currently pink stickered so i'l have to go through vtnz with it)

cheers,

oh also just curious about height restrictions as well if it IS allowed? ta.

Pretty sure its 150mm past the rear most part of the body work

where did you get that figure from? its not mentioned in the wof virm or the lvv exhaust standard.

having an exhaust sticking out miles from the bumper is a fairly recent issue/trend so there is no rule as far as i know. having a hot bit of pipe sticking out where someone can walk into it would be frowned on by the authorities

ok here i have a strut from a turbo ex lancer and im looking at fitting these here evo something calipers to them. The mounting holes are only a few mm off from fitting on there. Question is, will it be frowned upon if i were to slot the holes there slightly so the bolts go in?

Hey fellas, been looking at building myself a towbar to carry bikes (since my car would die trying to carry anything of size...), just wondering if it's legal to use one I've made myself or hacked up from parts?

I've been looking around a bit, but all I find it stuff based on what you are towing, nothing on the actual towbar.

Chur in advance.

if you are going to do that, i would slot the holes then weld a heavy washer over the hole in the correct position.

Hey Cletus have a couple of questions for you.

First off, the exhaust goes through the rear crossmember on my Datsun 180B it's 3'' I.D the exhaust I want to run is 2.5'' O.D was just wanting to know if that will have a enough clearence or will I need to enlarge the factory hole by welding a piece of 3.5" pipe in place of the factory one??

My last question is regarding my front brake conversion. I'm following the write up here at http://ozdat.com/for...hp?f=31&t=15785 for my conversion, if you need more in depth info. On the write up it says to drill and tap the eyes for the brake calipers to either M14 fine or 9/16 UNF, 9/16 is easier to get but was just wanting to know if I could use UNC as its a lot cheaper.

Any help much appreciated. Cheers, Greg
