peteretep
out of interest, what kind of speeds need to be achievable/sustained for this?
UTERUS
You really need to be doing 60-70 on flat to not want to die of boredom.
Raizer
Scooters aren't allowed to go faster than 50k 60+ ftw though. 1
Tumeke
If we're doing more than 60 I'll be playing catch-up all day. I have an oldschool bike. It's not fast. Am i better bringing a new-school bike?

I think some people on the Moped NZ Facebook group have mentioned wanting to bring FA50s, and they’re slow. 2

Raizer
Looks like my Gyro isn't going to be ready, so that leaves trailer room to bring Plan B up for someone to ride if needed.

As this is a moped ride, speeds are intended to mostly be around 50kmh, this may creep up to slightly over 60kmh as we get into aerodynamic formations, have tail winds and gravity assistance from declines, these will all be counteracted by any inclines we come across in our travels. Expect speeds to drop below 50 up these. realistically, there will be people with faster bikes who will end up ahead of others, but there will also be slower bikes that will be behind. But there’s enough stops planned frequently enough that no man/woman/non gender specific thing will be left behind. Or your mates shouldn’t be cunts and leave you for dead. There will be people there that will be able to do 55k topped out down a hill. Id personally bring the old bike. This is a cruise not a race. We’re on Mopeds not sports bikes. this is a MOPED cruise - aimed at catering for 50cc mopeds. What I learnt from eastcape is its fucking lush cruising along and taking in all the scenery. But being in the scenery’s not fun. 5
Tumeke
New tyres fitted to the oldschool Suzuki. Newschool backup is running well enough to be the backup. (Can even kick-start it now thanks to Tumeke Lube Inc) [ask your mum etc]

Mop Head
I’ve sent messages to everyone who has indicated they’re coming. If you haven’t got one then MESSAGE ME ASAP! Just a secret heads up, one of NZ’s biker magazines may be covering this ride and we’ll have them joining us on their own scoots. This is the kind of ride you’d sell your first born to attend. Don’t miss out!
Yowzer
Damn, gonna miss this one coz bike don't go and I have no gear or licence or money or anything so gonna work instead. I'll gatecrash the afterparty.
