If you jacked it up and lowered it ever so slightly until it wore the rubber down to the same level then it would be close. I doubt a burnout on its own would.

Will wait for video and go from there.

chasinthemirage
Does anyone have access to Toyota torque specs? 1KD-FTV in a Toyoace flywheel bolt torque setting? Can't get through to anyone in the local Toyota dealership.

kws
Just pondering. The rear axle and torque tube setup on SD1s is pretty average (LSDs are uncommon and expensive, no provision for any sort of swaybar, the torque tube splines wear and are NLA now, and they dont handle much torque) If one was to want to swap to a conventional live rear axle, from something else a bit more common, can anyone that of one that might fit with minimal mods to mountings? I know the hilux axles were a common swap into things like starlets. I dont know if those are still the go to? Im guessing shock, spring and radius arm mounts can be added to most live axles to suit the SD1
Seedy Al
Can't see why not? Width would be the most important thing to consider really.
Nominal
Hilux/Hiace are pretty common and can be had in various widths. Plan to cut off the existing mounts from the axle and weld on new ones (not a big deal). You'll need to modify the SD1 suspension design to replace the torque tube though. HighLUX
Estima F series would give you 5x114.3 and disk brakes then fit Torsen LSD center from an Altezza to get a decent diff without hilux tax. How wide is an SD1?
kws
Rear track is 1510mm, car width is 1770mm
Yowzer
Yah you definitely don't need the weight of a Hilux G series in the arse. F diff will do you fine and tezza torsens can be had for under $
HighLUX
1490 is the widest Estima F series from memory. Could be an option 7.5in crownwheel Bart. Will handle plenty of power
