Popular Post sentra
when you fire up the big cammed 202 that your going to repower this thing with at the mangere bridge boatramp, and a local chick winks at you in full view of your wife, who then makes you sandwhiches and opens your ranfurlys for you all day while you lay around in the sun, you will start to appreciate the finer parts of boat ownership.

RUNAMUCK
I like boats. I dislike cabin boats. OUt boards go fucking awesome. But they cost heaps, and require more maintenance than a supercharged engine with cast pistons. car motors should be lots easier. I'd ditch the ovlov donk. And slam in something less weird. Better yet, dollar reserve it, and spend the proceeds on a valiant. I see this vessel being an endless source of cost and misery. Not to mention the huge opportunity cost as time spend fucking with it is not time spend building tumeke bei turbo valiants. Â Abandon ship!
Stu
I know some dudes that had an old V198 that had a ovlov inboard which they swapped out for a lexus v8 for laughs. Â Surprising funny to bowl around in.

RUNAMUCK
I like being dragged around behind boat. (on a wakeboard) The old boys 225 jono can pull me out of the water in a heartbeat. I like to get OTP after I've been boating. see a cabin boat on a nice day, erryone is at the back to enjoy the weather, and it sits with the nose way up in the air. (they ride like shit like that too) bow riders are where it's at.
Popular Post cletus
one point of this whole project, which is quite contradictory to boat ownership (and we are probably dreaming) is to spend very little on this thing. my brother doesnt have much spare cash (3 kids) and wants to spend most of the spare fun coupons on his car anyway.  selling not an option yet, grandpa gave it to us and he would get the shits if we turned around and flicked it off to make $$. hes one of those old buggers who thinks everyone is out to get his valuables  te bro is an engineer so we can fix the trailer no problem  have already suggested a turbo TD27 with a straight pipe over the back as a volvo replacement. kind of want a rugged boat version of my old valiant. no cabin, flat black, too loud, shitbox looking thing, the opposite of what boaters usually want   ha, should put a crappy rb20 with china turbo, RBNAVY REPREZENT

ajg193
Screw getting rid of the cabin, make it the playboy mansion of the seas.
kyteler
Yeah, you definitely want the cabin. Â Inspect structural integrity, fix what has to be fixed and go fucking boating mate. Â It's awesome. Â All these whinging boat ownership hate types can eat a donkey, boats are great.
Steelies
cletus if you got given a free super-rotten car of a type you're not particularly passionate about, and haven't worked on before, that has to be a trailer pony, and could be used about as much as a track car, and has to live outside, and can sink with your investment/family onboard, what would you do with it?

RUNAMUCK
Oooh! I just remembered! I have a fuck off pair of megaphone headers from a jet boat which fit a SBM. (They'd be loud as all hell) Decision made I reckon. four into one. (One huge pipe) Slam in a stock 'teen, with blowthrough LPG rocking two aliexpress t3/t4's. And run a water to air cooler with sea water. So the charge is always stone cold.
Tele29
My father fitted a subaru 1.8 flat four under the floor of a launch he built, worked OK and fitted under the floor with no hump or engine box required. Is there a decent sized diesel version of a subaru flat four?
