  1. Mate those are all good - my brother has a Farr 1020 and has a genuine late 80's autohelm that just will not die. Obviously you don't use it when there is lots of load on the helm but we have done several non stop runs from AKL to the BOI on the autohelm in up to 20 knots of breeze and no drama so far. I remember seeing your yacht around AKL in some regattas and races, nice boat.
  2. Awesome result - my 12yo daughter said "Is it for sale? Please buy it!" so I guess her tastes are improving - reformed Tesla enthusiast.
  3. I like the fibreglass roof, I'd imagine it would be a bit heavier than an alloy one but better weather-tightness. My old man restores quite a few old caravans and has got it down to a science now, he is also a self-containment inspector for NZMCA. Sing out if you have any questions.
  4. So do you reckon it was a bad batch of cable or something?
  5. Can you just put a drill on the flywheel or something?
  6. If it goes pear-shaped you can always order one from Warmoth or somewhere, complete with truss rod and frets. 1.5mm thickness will make no difference, I wouldn't be surprised if the factory fender ones vary by even more than that over the years. I really miss my tele, had a nice MIJ 72 custom reissue in black on black with a maple fretboard, was a lovely guitar. Sold it to pay rent when my daughter was little, single income life
  7. That is awesome, tele style but with the arm contour like a strat? Does it have the belly contour as well? What neck will you use?
  8. Excuse my carb ignorance, what does the spacer achieve? More torque? Or better atomization?
  9. Cool project! What engine are you going to use? And why will it be a drill ported 12a with a 4 barrel?
  10. Can't use a ramflow without a supertrap muffler anyway.
  11. Awesome little tub My brother had a Ross 830 and a 930, now he has Farr 1020.
  12. That's impressive economy. My 2.4l CL9 accord averages 10.9! Probably because work is only 9km away so it never gets a chance to warm up properly. Looks great with the wheels and lower!
  13. You know, if you added a second turbo the heat soak from the cross-over pipe would be a distant memory. Also.... Methanol.
  14. Man, the seats look so good, thank you THANK YOU for respecting the factory style interior. It is gonna be a sweet ride once it is done, can't wait to see it in person.
  15. I saw 95 @ $2.95/L yesterday, crazy.
  16. So handy having everything ready to go in the trailer. I want to build one for kayak fishing so I can carry all the gear/chilly bins/BBQ etc and have it secure so the gear is still in the trailer when I return to shore. And have a washdown setup to get all the salt off before loading the kayaks on top. Might be a pipe dream though cause some of the spots I fish in northland have pretty ruthless locals! They'd probably just take the whole trailer, and whatever I was towing it with
  17. Those brackets are lush. Project Binky level.
  18. Awesome result, well done!
  19. Well done on not scrapping it when you saw the extent of the rust! You are a brave man!
