Chickity
Thread resurrection! We're about to do a bunch of stuff, but here is stage one, all complete, and delivering mega awesome extreme hot water pressure. Which is totally amazing. Especially since we've only ever had a low pressure cylinder here. Poos. Decision was partially water pressure based, partially we've allocated the space currently occupied by the cylinder to other pursuits, and partially we know awesome gasfitter of amazing who came on a weekend and after work to install it all. Yay for Stephen. Now to proceed with cleaning up the manky side of the house area so it matches the new system that lives there!

Chickity
Things be happening. New roof has been ordered and should be going on in a week or so. Since we intend to move the fireplace when we remodel the inside, and it's going to fall outside the new restrictions when they come into play eventually, it seems silly to install a new roof around the existing chimney. So today this got done:
kyteler
This is pertinent information for Chickity's roof, felixxxxxx. Good work. P.S. Chinmey removal is saddening, modern flue chiminimenies are a bit yuck though substancially less dangerous if falling.
felixx
oops.. sorry.. I intended to post in spam Chimney removal is a sad thing.. happened a lot round here in recent years. House work is amazing
Chickity
Fire will be replaced with a box style masport type thing, and will be in the centre of the house, so ugly 70s rendered thing would have gone regardless.

Chickity
Things and stuff. All of which sort of means forward momentum, but not really? Also, roof looks really really small when it's all bundled up on the lawn...

63Ragtop
nice floors, is that a whole roof?
HighLUX
Make sure your roof monkeys blow the metal filings from screwing off the roof off it properly and not just into the new guttering. Shits rusts with the first rainfall otherwise and quickly eats thru the powdercoating causing premature rusting etc
kicker
Also, roof looks really really small when it's all bundled up on the lawn... I thought the same thing when my roofing iron turned up, they didn't even use it all so I still have quite a few sheets left over. Be careful walking on the new stuff, squashes easy. What kind of guttering are you going for?
Chickity
Apparently, yes. Whole roof. Not replacing the guttering. Will just repair what's there currently in spots. I'm painting the fascia though, so it all needs to come down. Will give it a good clean at the same time.
