0R10N
Fark, only now is its size fully apparent to me. Impressed also Yeah, stood in the middle of the pad yesterday and marvelled at how huge it actually is with the beginnings of walls in place. next photo update I might put something in there for size reference, like a chair with the slight foundation elevation over the old garage it also feels like it'll tower over the neighbours' yard. Vintage Grumble
next photo update I might put something in there for size reference, like a chair I believe you have to use a cell phone or lighter as reference on car related forums. Also, mega jelly of this, my crappy shed is the bain of my existence.
bosozoku_gx71
Either of these are acceptable as size referances
0R10N
was fully expecting a van full of builders/rough cunts to turn up this morning, instead it was one old guy in a clapped out Bluebird. hung around a bit to make sure he didn't need the door unlocked or anything, but he uttered a tacit "She'll be right mate" and proceeded to put up a section of framing without any assistance, he-man spec. 0R10N
Got home too late last nite to take a progress photo - here it is on the morning of Day 17. Framing still needs dynabolting but is pretty much all erected. By one old guy (or at least, that's who turned up yesterday).
Ned
BTW, i took some pics for you yesterday with the old guy there. 0R10N
Hope you have the makings of a sweet time lapse video Mr Ed Yeah will probably combine all the shots from here into a gif. obviously still not as cool as a proper timelapse video though! By the time you guys next hit Auckland most of the cladding should be on

0R10N
Yup. Roof might even be on by then - if so, will make some ramps out of wood for lulz so I can drive a car inside.
0R10N
The old bastard turned up again today all by himself as I was leaving around 7am. I wonder how he got those 9m trusses up unassisted? Surely he must have had a posse as well, but the flatmate reported only seeing him onsite all day. Maybe the guy's middle name is "He-Man"... Day 17.

andy
I dont have a calculator (and im drinking) but that 9 metre span gives you a huge cavity for storage in the trusses. How high is the apex? lets see... SOHCAHTOA. I think its 10 degree pitch, the adjacent is 4500mm. Whats the "O"?
Dell'orto
Same deal with my garage, only one chap did it. Shit is ridiculous, doesnt look feasible to lift and fix trusses unassisted.
