  1. I think videos of the diff in full rwd mode are required now....please.
  2. Fuck thats depressing this thing was seriously tidy.
  3. Ae bo! Those 14x9's. SOW schweet. Il give you 300 for them. Ilike your tyre sizing and the fact that you too needed tubes. what brand of tyres are you running on them. Also when you get super poor again il buy those 14x9's, no joke
  4. Fuck yeah Sam, 3S-GE would be so epic in one of these! Beams for life.
  5. Hey man, love that you are doing it properly. I had forgotten how good it came up with a cut and polish. Almost makes me regret selling it haha. Definitely going to have to follow it. Have you had any problems with the motor? Cough JZ Cough
  6. Ok guys this is up for sale. Il put 3 months fresh rego on it. Ive done 5000 kms in it since i got it including driving it from christchurch and a few trips around the north island. Oil is a bit black and probably needs a service as it burns a bit of oil as these old things do. Good old beast of a 1S which is suprisingly peppy and not bad round town. Goes better than the 1g i had before it. W55 box for when you break it and decide it needs a 1j. Comes with awesome double din 80's stereo and i will even throw in the spectacular 3 dollar tape adapter to play your sweet dubstep tunes that the kids of the day love. Looking for 2800 ono. Will go on trademe if no one wants it within a week or so.
  7. Too damn cool. Also where did you get your jap plate from, ive been talking to some people who said its illegal to sell them etc and offered me some gay fake ones.
  8. Hahaha I knew someone would be pissed at me. A bit of a dick move but after bidding the diesel one up to 1800 bucks and then seeing this for 2 grand I just had to have it! I was so nervous for the whole week before I got it but it was a suprisingly mint drive up!
  9. Yeah yeah i just decided that red would be best purely on the basis that everyone else gets red so it will be fine for me.
  10. So i figure a 1987 Toyota Mark II SX70 doesnt really belong in the other project threads but seeing as there wont be much happening to it this will do. I bought it in Christchurch on a whim, sight unseen, didnt even get a chance to speak to the guy. But after picking it up, things could be a lot worse. I have done 1000+ kms so far problem free. Gearbox feels good and its pretty straight but not tidy, fairly scratched up. Its getting a cut and polish tomorrow from one of the valet's at work. Ive got the lowering springs from the oldcar waiting to go into it and plans for a modest set of 15's as this is purely for daily duty. But so far i love it.
  11. Thanks heaps guys, fully forgot this existed. Yeah I could find barely any bushes for it off the shelf so just called Ronnie who is making up the entire rear end for me. I'm not doing it because of it destroying bushes but because they all look completely fucked as I imagine 25 years of driving would do to them and so it has just become another thing on the list that should be replaced at some point. I'm sure il come back to this with more questions once they arrive and I get to fitting them.
  12. Hey guys, just getting some bushes made for my gx71. Have bc golds etc and its horrible on the old bushes so im getting the entire rear end made up in polyurethane but im just not sure what stiffness i want to go to. Obviously most people get red ones but is there much of a difference between red and yellow. Anyone with experience with either would be great to know what you think.
  13. Yeah im going with looking better, while at the same time still not being driven to a large list of new problems. hahaha
  14. So tried the wheels on for the first time, Shit pokes decently so i cambered the front out as much as i could and with a little guard play i should be able to get them under enough. As for the rears with the modified rear sub frame i should be able to get a heap of camber into it and pull the guards enough to fit them under. Or worse case get some flares for the rears and sit it right down on its arse. Anyway as she sits now, with the rear wound down a bit just for the fun of it. Ive got the rear piece of trim for it aswell. But yeah some picks with the stealies, I reacon a little roof spoiler would look really awesome and im thinking about getting a little black boot lip spoiler from a cressida.
  15. Man i havent touched this is ages. Ok so what happened, finally got it going again with the f series rear end, it has the bc's in it but as with everyone else the front is no where near low enough. Have just got the wheels back from Precision Wheels who were fitting them. Was too much stretch to fit normally so am running inner tubes in them. Haven't got any photos of the car but you arent missing much, it is wound down a little bit more in the rear and is one colour again for the first time in what feels like forever. plan for next week is to measure how much lower the front needs to be (im thinking about 40-50mm) and then get the shorter inserts ordered from redline. But yeah will post photos with the steels on soon but for now here is some wheel porn 185/55/14 on a 9"
