M_C
Nice! More pics please! Sides, front, back and under please! How did sump fit? Your firewall is chopped. How do you think it would fit against standard firewall? Possible, or do I need to get angle grinder out? The other Mk1 with 3sge beams I know already had huge firewall chop, but sits forward for sump. -Does 1.21 at Hampton, 120rwkw on link, standard unopened engine. My name is Russell
No probs will get some better pix. At this stage its just slapped in the hole as i currently have a bung shoulder and was difficult just getting this far. So the other escort you spotted had it mounted up the front like mine? not half a doz feet back. No dizzy on back rules for clearance. Front bowl looks like it will sit nicely in gap, worst case go compression strut. Engine is quite tall, not sure how its going to go fitting with cover on. If it wasnt for that pesky steering rack i would just chop stright into the crossmember. Width is nice. standard mounts look like they can be made to work nicely. My name is Russell
Just trying to work out how to do the fuel side of town and few bits n bobs then drop the loom of to be sorted. might try get it running on the ground. anyone got any good examples of these settup sunning of std comp? M_C
Marks mk1 beams had severe firewall chop when he got it. But 3sge sits up front over the cross member, otherwise was likley going to be dry sump to get under windscren and definitely remote linkages for gearstick. He ran the standard computer to start with but only had 80rwkw. We think it was missing some sensors or not done right as putting a link and tune on it turned it into 120rwkw! Ill PM you his number. My name is Russell
Hmmm the darn ECU had a rattle, opened up and has bloody dry mud in it! What has this engine / ECU been up to. (crate motor, gearbox, loom from japan) I'm starting to wonder if i need the other half of the loom also? Few ports are empty. something like this work? with a bosh 044? My name is Russell
You going aftermarket ECU? See how things pan out, the plan was to try to keep it completely standard for some reliable track time to get everything else sorted and worry about powa later on. Oh cheers Danger . . . would be nice to use it a bit more.
