New benchmark for exhaust note goals.

This is 3500cc 2gr motor in the lotus, so tack a few thousand more rpm onto this, and imagine that noise screaming out of an 80s toyota haha.

Man that sounds good!! Will be weirdly out of place in the Carina but that will add to the fun. 

 

Also a side note on changing belt path... I've seen what you've done cause vibration issues in high-revving Honda F-series engines. Ended up snapping main M12 alternator bolt/killing alternators. Turned out there was a reasonant frequency along the long straight run of the belt that came out at certain RPMs. I'm sure theres a way to calculate/avoid this if desired. But just a heads up since you'll be revving to the moon.

Have seen belts turn to dust at high(ish) rpm on 4g63t Evo's too. I think it was an order of frequency of the bigger diameter pulley vs the longest free span length. It was super repeatable and happened within a few seconds at certain rpm across a number of cars.

It is quite a long unsupported length.

You'll Probably find that a tiny little idler setup with almost no tension on it mid span would eliminate any risk.

Actually no fuck that, the installs I have seen that go nuts generally have pullies of very similar diameter, I reckon with the alternator being small diameter it might not fly to bits... 

Send it as is but maybe be prepared to alter it if grenades itself.

I'd be tempted to pop an idler pulley on just to justify your hacking off of the timing mark. See, it was all planned out right from the start

Silver lining - the auto bellhousing centralizes by just pressing a circle thing onto a circle thing. No randomly placed dowels to try align.

So it might work out well to chop down the j160 bell and weld on a centralized circle plate with matching holes. So the whole auto housing on there. 

That messes with clutch fork situation but id prefer peace of mind that its exactly centralized with fewer variables as possible.

Also, Toyota used the "fuck you and your whole family" variant of loctite on the bolts so that was fun. No way i was getting this loose with tools i had.

Why not get rid of clutch fork and go to a concentric clutch release bearing?
