Yowzer
Yup that's the main thing, them old V5s don't have the greatest resolution so tuning idle / low throttle driving gets more difficult. Ideally you want the injectors to be running around 80% at full noise, although with a better ECU you'd have more res to play with so could get away with larger injectors much more happily. In any case, they'll still work fine.
Rookie
Any tips on getting fuel injectors to seal in the rail?
Stu
You wont have any issues with 560's on a v5, ran bigger than that on a few setups and had no issues with idle/cruise etc
Rookie
That doesn't help me.
Vintage Grumble
Any tips on getting fuel injectors to seal in the rail? Â Are they just bottom feed ones with an o-ring that pops into a recess in the rail?
Rookie
Yes, I have a fuel fountain currently.
Spencer
Use o-rings.
Vintage Grumble
Yeh, what he said. It is easy to damage them when slamming the rail in. The flower brothers should be able to get you fuel proof ones.
Rookie
Hmm, maybe I shall try new orings, any other suggestions?
Spencer
I had a buddy down at seal imports and I would just roll down there and hunt the shelves for fatter O-rings until it worked.
Vintage Grumble
Yeh, there's not much else it could be, unless the rail or injector has a mark in it?
Rookie
I don't thing so, I will have another look.
Rookie
But fatter orings sounds like a deal.
Spencer
You probably know but get viton ones if you can, they handle the fuel and heat betterer.
Stu
Sometimes you can fit two o rings on the injectors to help seal them

Yowzer
Slap a bit of rubber grease on them so they slide in easier. Helps prevent damaging them and stuff.
eke_zetec_RWD
Measure the size of the injector and the rail. Tell seal imports this and they will give u the correct orings. Bigger isn't better. Correct is better. Also will need lube to install them.
Ja1lb8
I think it's more to do with difficulty in controlling super small pulsewidths? As in, your ECU cannot control below 2% opening time. (for example) That might be fine for 350cc injectors as 2.5% pulsewidth gives you correct idle. But 560cc might need 1.5%, which your ECU cant do. Or whatever. Had this exact problem. Think they were 720cc and was using a microtec which is shit and couldnt get it to idle. Put 370cc back in and was all good.
