Ned Posted February 16, 2014 Posted February 16, 2014 This is my problem haha, I want Jenveys for $200, I do agree they are better than most but they still have a million vacuum ports and I don't want any of that.Man up and cast your own? Quote
Rookie Posted February 16, 2014 Posted February 16, 2014 / Make slide throttles. Also tps of throttle pedal is dumb because cables stretch. Quote
Ned Posted February 16, 2014 Posted February 16, 2014 Here are 20 pages on how to build some slide throttles http://forums.vwvortex.com/showthread.php?4662626-The-complete-guide-on-casting-parts And 29 pages on making these http://forums.hybridz.org/topic/63445-making-my-own-efi-intake-the-first-casting/ 1 Quote
Rookie Posted February 16, 2014 Posted February 16, 2014 Yea I have seen those, I am reasonably convinced that they are wildly overkill. Quote
Ned Posted February 16, 2014 Posted February 16, 2014 For sure, but realistically all you need is an injector, a valve and a hole to let in air... could be a fun DIY project? Would be sweet to find a cheap, no-frills off the shelf thing though Quote
flyingbrick Posted February 16, 2014 Posted February 16, 2014 Just use some stainless ball valves/ raid fonterra scrap bin 2 Quote
yoeddynz Posted February 17, 2014 Author Posted February 17, 2014 get some old triumph PI TBs and adapt? Quote
slacker.cam Posted February 17, 2014 Posted February 17, 2014 Spence, how long ago did you read the article in racecar eng about slide throttles? I tried having a look for it but didn't have any luck. 1 Quote
Spencer Posted February 17, 2014 Posted February 17, 2014 I couldn't tell you man I would have to check have been subscribed for years, it may have been in race engine technology? I'm subscribed to that one too. Its pretty well touted in there that F1 and other forms of motorsport went away from slide throttles, the shit partial throttle cylinder filling isn't worth the miniscule gain at wot. Quote
Spencer Posted February 17, 2014 Posted February 17, 2014 Now do some CFD of how dumb they will be Guess its only a kent, cant get much worse. 1 Quote
Rookie Posted February 17, 2014 Posted February 17, 2014 The main point is that they look sweet. 2 Quote

CaMpylobacter Posted February 17, 2014 Posted February 17, 2014 So no one will say if spraying the injectors on the out side of the throttle plate is going to work/ catch my car on fire? I'm not talking out boards but like 2" away from where they would normally be? carbs do this. they use vaccumm to draw the fuel through, though. what's wrong with side draughts.bike carbs on this thing? evn injected it'll still be a kent Quote
