isnowi
Yeah, fuck the back door Possibly not too much of an issue with an MX5...
karmagedon
Yea I don't think back door will be an issue. Am looking into making some aluminium flares, or extending the ones I baught. Those big ass ones from the states are around the 800USD mark = too much. took some photo's of the lock, i forsee an issue. I might have to get them reduced by 1"? mjrstar
It should be fine you'll just need some 10 series tyres.
Kelvin
Cut the car not the wheels, when its got the flares on you wont be able to see the gaurd so it wont matter if you trim some off it,also what kinda size tyres are you thinking of useing? karmagedon
The only tyres that I know of that will fit are the T1R's in 225/
mikuni
To be honest that lock to lock issue isn't as bad as I was expecting. I was thinking the rim would touch the front and rear of the guard. Solution to that, seriously now, is to extend the stopper for the lock to reduce it by a few mm. It will solve the issue and you won't notice it too much with daily use. It is a bit of a cop out solution but it will be quicker and easier than fucking with the wheels, if you're still keen to run with them as 10's. Kelvin
I was having a look at 10'' wide rims on http://www.tyrestretch.com/index.php and found these 185/60 195/45 205/45 225/45 I like the 225/45's like your thinking of,they have just the right amount of stretch and look sooooo tuff
Simon
Problem being none of those will get a cert. And, try resting the car on the rim at about the height you will run it. Now do lock to lock... This will be insane when it gets finished.
