UTERUS
A radiator repair place will possibly have a big ol cleaning tank to dip your sack/tank into for a jolly good clean out. I did this once with a scum filled tank and i was all wowee that's clean.
Vintage Grumble
THAT is a very good idea. I was pretty darn happy how clean it came up, was so shiney! so have already stuck it back in, ha.

Vintage Grumble
Asked the wife to make me a cuppa, she told me to get bent, as I used her tooth brush to clean the pump filter sock, lewls.

Vintage Grumble
People, is it ok to have a tube leading from the vent of your catch can, under your car, rather than having the little vent filter? Motorsport people wont car about that will they?
Rookie
I think they probably would; you know, putting oil on the track and all.
Vintage Grumble
I have a 1L catch can, its just the smell comes into the car, so I thought if I took the filter vent thing off and plumbed a hose running under the car, it may stop the stink? If the can fills, it will dump oil into the engine bay anyways, so dont think it will be a problem.
KKtrips
Plumb it back into your intake manifold so it burns the hydrocabons/stink?
Vintage Grumble
I could do that, but may be more trouble that its worth due to the quads. A very fine film of oil spray/scum comes out of it also, so kinda wanted to keep it away from my pretty filter, haha. (I understand its going to be full of dust anyways) I should feed it into chassis rails as an anti rust device.
KKtrips
Then feed it into the exhaust collector so it burns off.
Spencer
Yea bang it in the intake with a PCV, your oil will be happier.
Vintage Grumble
I thought a PCV valve was just a one way valve, but obviously is lets shit out of the engine, and must let air in if its best to be filtered? So what does the valve do? Guess I could tap it into the back of the filter base plate, in between the center quads, dont really want all the scum going down one intake. kpr
mine aims at the airfilter, for no good reason. but it does make for a self oiling air filter when it does the 4age trick. used to have a hose as you suggested. mostly oiling the rust. but plumbing it into the base plate is probably the best idea. (long as you keep an eye on the oil level in the can) only use a pcv if its on the engine side of throttles. where did you get your itg filter from? Vintage Grumble
I've just started changing lots of stuff around in the engine bay, trying to make it all a bit tidier, so the catch can will now be behind the head light/infront of the air filter, so will see if the engine sucks in the stank, mite not have to plumb it in after all. I got the filter from this place/guy, he's the NZ agent. He does motorsporty stuff on the side (has another day chob) real nice chap to deal with. www.motorsportbitz.co.nz

Vintage Grumble
More dort is on the way! You would be surprised at how much dort the fiberglass plenum stole. Filter dude failed to mention the price he told me twice, was +GST, so the itg filters aint much cheaper than a pipercross ones.
