fuel Posted January 23, 2022 Posted January 23, 2022 Not the worst thing that could follow you home! Hopefully pre-WOF goes ok. Loving the mushroom oil filler cap. 2 Quote
kws Posted January 23, 2022 Posted January 23, 2022 Cool little car; that motorbike spec pod filter though Quote

yoeddynz Posted January 26, 2022 Posted January 26, 2022 Cool car bro. I love the hubcaps. Widened steels whilst keeping them would look sweet. But that fake grill. Horrid. Glad to read that's going. Looking forward to following progress on this. Hopefully an Imp road trip south soon. Must catch up. 2 Quote
Flash Posted February 1, 2022 Posted February 1, 2022 Not a bad pre WOF result, so hopefully you are able to get it all legal shortly. Chuffed to see that you have removed that fake grill. It spoiled the classic Imp front end look in my opinion. Quote
kws Posted February 1, 2022 Posted February 1, 2022 Thats a great result on the WOF, wont take much to get it sorted out. Also concur with the above, that grille was gross. 1 Quote
yoeddynz Posted February 1, 2022 Posted February 1, 2022 Great result!!! Congrats. Going from that photo looking up at the sill/floor area it looks pretty solid! (bar a tiny hole in what is a collection point for road dust and damp) These imps are made from good quality and quite thick steel from what I've seen. 1 Quote
Ashkellybarr Posted February 2, 2022 Posted February 2, 2022 I remember seeing one of these at Taupo raceway some years back. guy have a Subaru WRX motor in it, it passing gtr’s on the outside 1 Quote

dmulally Posted March 13, 2022 Posted March 13, 2022 Right. This engine is already getting on my tits. Open to engine swap ideas. 50-100hp, reliable, and carb. Ideas so far are EA81, Suzuki Carry, 1600 cortina. I don't care about handling. 99% of my driving is in 100kph zones with long lazy corners. Quote

locost_bryan Posted March 13, 2022 Posted March 13, 2022 Surprised no-one has suggested a rotary. What's wrong with the old nail? Just wanting more power and reliability? A small Suzi sounds the go, or go electric with a Leaf power train? Quote

I don't really need more power. Just more gearing (VW box swap) and reliability. This imp engine is a decent runner but isnt really rural roads friendly. Would be perfect for in town. 1 Quote
locost_bryan Posted March 13, 2022 Posted March 13, 2022 Plenty of VW swaps and adaptors, should give you lots more choices than using the Hillman box. I'd still opt for something as light as the Imp engine. 2 Quote
