Truenotch Posted October 21, 2014 Posted October 21, 2014 Immature, dangerous and irresponsible. BAN. 2 Quote
Celica RA45 Posted October 21, 2014 Posted October 21, 2014 you old cocks ,you can fix this easy ,if bango has the bafflles in the bango weld on some exhaust tube and make sure its about 4 mm away from side gears or lsd and fill .the exhaust tube will stop the oil going down the distance tubes philip island kills pinions quickly through turn 1 at 200 kays Quote
Vintage Grumble Posted October 21, 2014 Posted October 21, 2014 ^ That shouldn't be the problem, as i've done piss tones of track days with no problems. One of the countries best mechanics, and all round on to it fellas, was at my house a few weeks ago to pick up an engine, I got him to view the old CW&P, and he agreed 100% that it had to be the shit oil. oldmatedan Posted November 1, 2014 Posted November 1, 2014 Cool video vg I'd do that if the ratsun spun twins Aprove completely why build skid pans if there's millions of miles of tar seal right outside your door hahaha Quote
HighLUX Posted March 23, 2015 Posted March 23, 2015 Good work vintage thomas It was prolly those hektic circles you cut that broke the stractors Quote
Vintage Grumble Posted March 23, 2015 Posted March 23, 2015 Lewlz, my only regret is, we didn't do more circle work. Quote
Vintage Grumble Posted March 23, 2015 Posted March 23, 2015 Nope. The factory systems never had then as far as I know, so never bothered putting one in. Having one in there wouldn't hurt, but I think its snapping off was more down to Chinese steel/build quality than anything else. Quote
Vintage Grumble Posted March 24, 2015 Posted March 24, 2015 Fuck all RWD cars have them, and i've never had it happen before. Plus I don't like flex joints, they shit their pants way more often than pipe snap's off from fatigue. Quote
Roman Posted March 24, 2015 Posted March 24, 2015 More modern toyotas have flexis built into the flanges by having a cone shaped gasket thing and springs in the bolts. You can get them easily in 2.5" 2.25" and downwards. Using one on the end of extractors on mine partially because I can reuse the gasket a zillion times when pulling motor in and out and it still seals. And a bit more forgiving to the exhaust if it scrapes on the ground or whatever. Quote
keltik Posted March 24, 2015 Posted March 24, 2015 Id rather have 10ft of pipe swinging on a cone seal or a flexi than putting all that shizam onto the exhaust studs/welds. All Subarus and Hondas have them. Cant speak for Toyboata Only time ive seen it be a bad idea was the pre-turbo one a mate welded in that got all melty and took Mr turbine wheel with it. Quote
Vintage Grumble Posted March 24, 2015 Posted March 24, 2015 If it snaps off again, i'll put one in. Until then, get fucked. Quote
keltik Posted March 24, 2015 Posted March 24, 2015 How rude sir! I've never been so insulted in all my life /domoredoorts Quote
Vintage Grumble Posted March 24, 2015 Posted March 24, 2015 I'll take that as a compliment, its good to know I excel at what I do. Quote
Dell'orto Posted June 4, 2015 Posted June 4, 2015 They do similar when TVIS opens, maybe its just a weird intake resonance thing? Quote
Truenotch Posted June 4, 2015 Posted June 4, 2015 What's changed since the tune? I'm picking the intake (doort filter) and exhaust changes could have done it. Quote
Vintage Grumble Posted June 4, 2015 Posted June 4, 2015 They do similar when TVIS opens, maybe its just a weird intake resonance thing? What's changed since the tune? I'm picking the intake (doort filter) and exhaust changes could have done it. I'm 99% sure it didn't start straight after I changed the filter/exhaust, and i've changed both many times since it was tuned, that's why its a bit strange. It seems like its gone out of tune without anything physically changing? Mebbe the link has lost its mind? It would be nice to work out whats changed, because I want to re-flash the ECU with an update, and then get it re-tuned. Don't want to do all that and find out something is altering the tune. Quote
Truenotch Posted June 4, 2015 Posted June 4, 2015 Have you done anything with wiring or sensors? Quote
