Vintage Grumble Posted June 4, 2015 Posted June 4, 2015 Nope, I literally haven't changed a thing. I guess i'll just have to give it a super good going over, and see what the wide band comes up with. Quote
kpr Posted June 4, 2015 Posted June 4, 2015 will be exhaust. i bet it had a dip in power at that spot before revision son 1 Quote
Vintage Grumble Posted June 4, 2015 Posted June 4, 2015 will be exhaust. i bet it had a dip in power at that spot before revision son Woo, if this is what it is, that means my exhaust upgrade has made a difference, silver lining. This makes the most sense I guess. Quote
kpr Posted June 4, 2015 Posted June 4, 2015 Throw some fuel at it and it will be like t-vis torque all over again When i was messing with mine. dropping the small exhaust off at collector, would make a run so lean at one point in rpm, it would just die. Hence 3". Cams do silly things. Also you are likely able to hear if you are getting revision, since you are running open throttles. if your intake note has a bark to it at one point in rpm, likely getting revision. if have a clean dort throughout the rev range things are grand. 1 Quote
Vintage Grumble Posted June 4, 2015 Posted June 4, 2015 I've never had the pleasure of feeling TVIS kick in, its been removed on every blue top i've driven. Also, the intake sound hasn't changed as far as I can tell, just good old fashioned dort all the way through. Hope to get the wide band on it this weekend and have a play. Something I forgot to mention, is it started not idling when it came off the choke/cold also, assume this may also be related to lean-ness. Quote
Roman Posted June 4, 2015 Posted June 4, 2015 If only you were in Auckland VG, we could go on a datlogging brodate and I'd be able to draw your some boring graphs </3 2 Quote
Vintage Grumble Posted June 4, 2015 Posted June 4, 2015 That sounds dreamy! My bro in law knows a bit about this shit, hes done the motec installer course in oz, and tuned a few things. We will pop out to the local dyno/ohope hill tomorrow and have a play. We will data log, but I dunno how to make graphs of it sorry. Quote
Vintage Grumble Posted August 10, 2015 Posted August 10, 2015 The lazy man in me might just buy this and be done, as I want to make it to a the next Taupo dual sprint. http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/Listing.aspx?id=931096249 Quote
Roman Posted August 10, 2015 Posted August 10, 2015 Ahhh this reminds me, a few snippets of your car from last time in here, excuse the retardomax video colours. 2 Quote
Sambo Posted August 10, 2015 Posted August 10, 2015 Holy fuck. Sell Levin, buy V8 Merc. Thoroughly enjoyed that video, the Alfa sounded sweet too, was fun watching it take the 300. ....Oh yeah, that blue corolla was aiight. Quote
beachlander Posted August 10, 2015 Posted August 10, 2015 Have heard many good things about Fenix radiators/have one my self but haven't put it in yet. direct swap with your standard one I believe 2 Quote
Roman Posted August 10, 2015 Posted August 10, 2015 Holy fuck. Sell Levin, buy V8 Merc. Supercharged C63 with ~600hp or so. Was awesome. It's a huge friggen heavy car though so it's still less than 2 seconds a lap quicker than the 86 was. I've got some vids of it having a go on the skid pad, traction control only lets the car do about a 1/4 turn before weeing in its cereal. The Alfa needs another muffler for sure haha. 1 Quote
Vintage Grumble Posted August 10, 2015 Posted August 10, 2015 Thanks for the video Roman, was neat. Yeh, my simpleton mind was blown by the merc being able to go from the quietest car there, to the loudest at the push of a button. Have heard many good things about Fenix radiators/have one my self but haven't put it in yet. direct swap with your standard one I believe I was having a geeze at them on TM also, but they seem to be the exact same radiator as the redline one, just more expensive. TBH, 80% of the alloy 86 radiators i've found on ebay and ali seem to be the same radiator. Must be a busy China man pumping them out. Quote
beachlander Posted August 10, 2015 Posted August 10, 2015 oh more than likely they are the exact same thing. Quote
Vintage Grumble Posted August 11, 2015 Posted August 11, 2015 Sounds like they are A O K then. From my brief search, that's not a bad price either, so will likely snaffle. Quote
4AGEMAD Posted August 11, 2015 Posted August 11, 2015 Dont buy redline, theyre cheap crap. Fenix is designed to a much higher standard. Ive got one in black, really great quality. Quote
Vintage Grumble Posted August 11, 2015 Posted August 11, 2015 They could very well be made in different places/to different standards, but they all look exactly the same. There's like 20 different companies selling the same radiator on ebay/aliexpress. I'd be very surprised if they are not all exactly the same. Quote
Vintage Grumble Posted August 11, 2015 Posted August 11, 2015 /But yes, needs to be black, looks way betterer. 1 Quote
