My name is Russell
Anyone know what the hell this little hole i have leaking water from is for? presume its water pump. Area on front of engine. Hole water is leaking from About to get radiator 3 cored so will try fix this as radiator is out. http://img33.imageshack.us/img33/7844/3a2.pdf
My name is Russell
Just removed it and yeah looks like its the seals gone and the hole is called a "weep hole", there to drain the water leaking past the seal. Will have to do some reading up on how to re tension cam belt once i have new water pump.
QCADTA
well done on gettin it goin had the same issues with my engine after it had been sitttin for so long, had the cambelt off and on bout three times before it stopped leakin water and oil all part of the fun that is frustration. crazy_rich
dont piss around mate, if its not already been done, replace everything, waterpump, cambelt, tensioner, idlers, its not as expensive as you might think, and much easier to do now, especially if your planning on revving the bajesus out of the poor thing, last thing you'll want is to be relying on a cambelt/idlers of unknown condition, though if its new, ignore me. shot. My name is Russell
WHAT COOLS BETTER ALLOY OR COPPER IN THIS CASE ITS THIS http://www.littlereds.co.nz/StockCatalo ... tockID=494 OR http://www.littlereds.co.nz/StockCatalo ... StockID=14 VS http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/Listing ... =294174713 THINK I PREFER TOP ONE
QCADTA
alloy radiator will be half the weight of a copper one, but if the water is heavy in trace elements there is the chance of electolysis or some shit from memory. google will clarify it better than my memory. My name is Russell
apparently copper as a material by itself cools allot better than alloy however the construction of them lets them down as the solder used to hold the tanks together retains heat and means that aluminium constriction works better as a unit. have now got an alloy one on they way that has 25% more capacity than the copper one and should fit into the space easier. bonus! eke_zetec_RWD
iv got the second one in my escort. is double pass, 3 core, cross flow. all good features. both inlet and exit on drivers side tanks. also core is exacty the same width as a 450x300 intercooler. i presume thats the size you are running? although i still need a very very good electric fan to cope in city traffic.
