My name is Russell
two of the springs I sold you( the red ones) are 8kg(~450lb) and two are 6kg(~335lb) Hope that helps haha. cool that helps heaps cheers block-lee iv got the red ones in there now but gaz thinks they to stiffage. ok cancel that on tyres just thought from this blub they sounded ok "Drift Competition Federal's extremely successful UHP, the former ss595, has been repositioned and renamed simply as the 595. Slight technical changes have been made by FTC to the tire to suit the purposes and take the abuse of drifting competition. Combat-bred. Performance-driven. For those requiring flat-out performance, no other tire grips like the 595, yet still provides for the basic comforts of everyday driving. Aggressive V-shaped tread and innovative silica compound maximizes level of adhesion, resistance to aquaplaning, and gives your car ultimate control in acceleration, cornering and braking. Unparalleled comfort in its class." was looking for something with a lower profile like you said gaz but not having any luck. will visit tyre man tomorrow and ask about TOYO R888' anyone recommend anything else in 15s or were to go for them? My name is Russell
Hey bo, them on I checked for that handbrake cable - I only have one spare and plan to keep it for now incase something happens during my drum-disc conversion. As far as I can tell the hand brake cable is identical between the drums and discs models. Hard to measure as one set is on the car - but it looks like both have the same cable end bits (whatever they are called), and length must be almost the same if not exactly. sweet as cheers anyway boe! what conversion you doing? xsspeed
Nothing special, just swapping fxgt disc brakes onto my liftback which came with drums. Its a straight bolt up job.

Gaz
was looking for something with a lower profile like you said gaz but not having any luck. will visit tyre man tomorrow and ask about TOYO R888' anyone recommend anything else in 15s or were to go for them? Not that im a tyre expert but I would not even bother reading the actual tyre company blurbs. Instead search for reviews.. I.e, Toyo R888 review in google. This will often compare the certain tyre to other brands in differant situations/conditions. The R888 is a mean tyre but I think it would be more suited for track/road use rather than road/track use... if that makes sense. They will wear down fast with road kms is what im saying. As for profiles, I have run both a 195/45/15 and a 205/45/15 on my old escort. The 205/45/15 were Toyo Proxies so start there.Back then there was heaps of choice but maybe not so anymore. PS, Direzza DZ101s curb gaurd looks meke as. Gaz's 5c
Gaz
oh yeah, R888's will also be shit in wet when cold/driving round town.
eke_zetec_RWD
toyo ra1. dot racing tyre. seem to grip well and were slow under normal driving then come racing time go all sticky and lush.
Truenotch
^^ Copy that. I run RA1's as wets/hillclimb tyres/backup tyres. They are a good tyre and handle the open road well. They will wear harder than a normal road tyre, but you need more than a normal road tyre . Possibly an idea to get another set of wheels? So you can have semi's for the track and a set of DZ101's or similar for the street...
Gaz
Isnt the R888 the new Ra1? I also think you need another set of rims for road use. I suggest 20" chrome spinners with LED valve caps. Gaz
Truenotch
Nope, just a higher spec'd tyre. R888's are good in the dry but really slippery in the rain. RA1:
Gaz
Oh way differant Can you fit any wider under the rear Chris? Gaz
My name is Russell
yeah just going to get a 2nd set of wheels, poss some of these if i can get them to fit http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/Listing ... =276133119 Are you able to take mags home and test fit them realisticly it will be prob be next year before i get it road legal. can fit little wider. . . . 205 50 15's toyo's should fit the same as 205 50 15' kingstars on my wheels yeah? they just looked to have allot more square a side wall compared to all the ones i looked at yesterday at the Mt Vic hill climb. but presumes that was because they had narrower wheels? My name is Russell
What you guys recon about using one of these as an engine damper http://www.trademe.co.nz/Sports/Cycling ... 745209.htm Just want one to protect the engine mounts a little as not keen on getting new custom made ones and thought these might work better with adjustment I know on my DH bike the adjustment for how firm they can go is fairly decent. My name is Russell
Solid mount the engine. Could be an option if the nolothanes seperates from plates, as one of them has already begun too, not sure if cert man likes solid mounts?
kyteler
Neither to be honest but if you're still wanting road ability out of the car it's probably not a nice option.
