Wheel arch flares not exceeding 125mm width per side overall may be fitted. The

measurement is to be taken from the outermost point of the Standard mudguard. These

wheel arch flares may be flared into doors provided they do not cover more than 50% of the

door skin.

HAHA Shit you guys just had me worried! read over "sanctioned articles governing the 2009/10 ss2000 register" & "part 2 schedule ss2000 technical regulations" yesterday and there where a few i could see of concern;

- "min 1180 Kg", will prob be just under this with role cage and diff anyways always an easy solution to that one anyways :twisted: drink more beer :mrgreen:

- "wheel arch flares not exceding 125mm." was worried about that one but went home and measured her up and shes sweet as.

- "exaust system max internal diamater of 63mm" ... converted it and realised thats still 2 1/5" so thats sweet as owls.

- "Open class vehicles are restricted to DOT approved road tyres", so those TOYO R888's should be fine?

- "The overall wheelbase may not be increased by more than 4%", freaked out on that one thinking wheel base was width then Nick did some gloogling for me to remind me wheelbase is lengthwase, so sweet there thats un changed.

I just wanna go race n and try beat some fucken honds in an escort. 8) ... not really expecting to win open class as i imagine the AWD cars would walk all over me and have allot more than my 212KW. Or though last meet there were only 3 cars in open so may be able to sneak in a cheeky 3rd / last roffle.

Leading open class (maybe overall) atm is Malcolm with the Blue S14 silvia - probably 250KW or more ATW and it gets pretty squirrely on the semi's. There's also Tony oliver with the Mad S15 silvia....

Yes, R888's are fine.

Just get it going and come up for some track time! The more seat time you have, the better you will be in real racing. It's pretty dangerous jumping into a field of 30+ cars if you haven't done much clubsport...

You will be lighter than this. You should be near 1000kg flat. Depends if it includes driver/fuel or what?

Also you with 212kw and 1000kgs should be pretty damn competitive I would say, good power toweight and your engine makes lots of torque. Especially if you have decent tyres and your rear end setup works. All will depend on putting power down and handling Id say.

I would have thought the Evo's would betop of this class?

Nah, both of the Silvia's are well developed cars and a lot of the EVO's have stepped up to the NZGT class.

Tony Olivers car is the ex-Mag and Turbo S15 that ran in SuperGT... It's trick. Malcolms S14 is one of the two Enduro cars that was built in Auckland. That and they're both kickass drivers.

There is an evo doing well in the class this year, but he normally does well in the handicap races.
