For Questions Regarding WOFs/CERTs/NUMBER PLATEs

Camper/backpacker vehicle question... Yes I did search, found possible but not moderately certain answers...

If I get a dodgy old people mover, whip some seats out, and make a platform to stick a mattress on for occasional sleeps, is there any future drama with WOFs etc? Not wanting a self contained camper, just a movable tent that will stay at places with toilets etc. Logic says no, but we are assuming NZTA uses such logic.

I understand NZTA in the spirit of nannying everything have recently made life harder for horsetruck owners. Bloody good thing as they and/or their drivers are a menace. Hence my question. No horses will be involved in my mission.

Either an actual answer or a link to an answer would be great, thanks in advance.

The LVVTA Threshold doc states what you can do before needing a cert

Also from the VIRM

There is no issue with removing seats

Does anyone have experience with the interpretation/definition of “readily accessible”?

I don’t have any room in my engine bay on the drivers side for my reservoirs  and to run the feed lines correctly so have placed them inside the dash.1B85E20D-FABA-413B-A1E6-2471B2DF93F3.thumb.jpeg.2901a9bc656b727f7883e5ac3a9890f8.jpeg

The vent doesn’t have a hose going to it now so I can check the level through the vent. But I do need to remove the vent and fill the reservoirs with a syringe.

The other option is on the passengers side of the engine bay and to get them high enough they are going to need to be fairly close to the headers which seems a worse solution than having to fill by syringe?

I think I want to grind the welds off this stub axle

Releasing it from the backing plate on the beam.

Then drill and tap holes to mount this disk stub

Both backing plates are 10mm. Potentially I will have to weld two holes up in the drum backing plate so the new holes don't overlap

What's the go with flipped leaves? Just been looking at a post on another forum where a guy reckons you can lower an E series wagon 2" buy taking the spring pack apart and putting the small leaf on the bottom upside down on top of the pack. Seems somewhat dodgy. Is it legal and how shit is the ride quality likely to be?

Hey lads,

I'm converting the AE86 to e-throttle and have a donor accelerator pedal assembly that bolts on without any modifications to the bracket or car, but I'd like to re-bend or at worst cut/weld the pedal arm to shift it over 30mm ish so its in the same location as the original cable pedal.

Is that a cert no no or sweet as?

I'm would think mucking around with a brake pedal would be slightly detrimental if it broke and you then had no stopping power, but with a accelerator if the arm snapped the worst that happens is you lose power?

Thoughts?
