Hope those bends work out under alternator, does sound like an opertunity to 3D print  a ducted carbon reinforced alternator cooling unit. 

Failing that Cermacrome coating by Procoat in Auckland is amazing at reflecting heat away or keeping it in if you do headers in it just looks like stainless.

Hoping I can line up beside you at drag day and check out your tail lights down the track.

Your car has a way bigger engine and an equally big turbo hanging off it.
I think the only way you'll be seeing my tail lights, is if you're parked behind me when it's blown to smithereens. 
 I'll be absolutely over the moon to just get the car down the end of the strip to be honest.
I'm not sure if I'll be able to fit the big cams in by December as there's possibly still a few curveballs to contend with.

I think drag racing is one of the few things where sometimes it feels like you're missing out when you're participating.
Because when you're lining up you dont get to watch all of the other cars run.
Super keen to see yours there!
God I cant wait to get to the point where I can hoon nightspeed events and do some track days again.
I'm only about 35 minutes away from Hampton Downs now, and about 40 to Meremere.

I have this mental image of you both lining up with 6-8 people behind/on each car to attempt pushing them both down the 1/8th (1/4 is too far haha) 

I don't wish that on either of you but it would show the oldschool spirit and be a laugh. 

I'm keen to see both cars moving under their own power.

It's a drag race so you have to do it in heels

Do that ^ on both wheels, but with dynamos and some cleaver switching boxes and you'll have electric assist when needed!

Throw some accelerometers in the mix and shift electrical load around to brake the inboard wheel and power the outboard wheel during cornering.

If you do it right you'll also be able to use it as a dyno while you drive.

I think black holes form in the universe, when someone figures out you can connect an alternator up to the wheel, that then feeds its power back to an electric motor that spins the wheel

It'd be interesting to see the crank on that. I wonder if they've done anything funky with tungsten counterweights or if it's just a bog-standard style crank.
