Truenotch
Sweet, I did the same trip in my 348 last year. Tane Mahuta made me jizz / the roads around there are amazing. INVESTMENT PLATES! KK is available, and AE . 86 has sold though...
V8Pete
That wasn't Tane Mahuta, it was Manginangina. http://www.doc.govt.nz/parks-and-recreation/places-to-go/northland/places/puketi-and-omahuta-forests/things-to-do/manginangina-kauri-walk/ About 30 km of awesome gravel road - bugger all corrugations, ruts and potholes etc even though logging trucks use them. Very slam car friendly (at least at the moment). There was nobody there at all if you want to avoid the crowds too. This was an amazing piece of road too https://www.google.com/maps/dir/Mangamuka,+Northland,+New+Zealand/Kaitaia,+New+Zealand/@-35.1636461,173.4039035,13z/data=!4m8!4m7!1m2!1m1!1s0x6d097d26e2c73545:0x500ef6143a2de00!1m2!1m1!1s0x6d0977497dd200ed:0x500ef6143a2d1b0!3e0 Seemed to be new asphalt and not coarse chip shit.
