anglia4
That's very cool jeff, well done. Do your mufflers match? In one of your pics it looks like the tips are different diameters? Pretty sure they match! Haha, had to go and check though! I wouldn't mind getting some more the same if I ever came across some cheap. Someone has done a pretty hory job of attaching these ones and it bugs me sometimes.
Duke Blackwood
Image Motorcycles in New Plymouth sell them for $80 each, all shiney new chrome. They have two on the shelf, saw 'em yesterday. They also do a mini megaphone for $120 which i'll be getting for my GB.
anglia4
Sweet as. I thought they were pretty cheap. Open pipes would be cool too...

Duke Blackwood
That looks awesome. Like a true shed job haha. What's your plan from there bro, to get it smooth and purty?
anglia4
Few more tacks here and there to make sure it doesn't come apart. Need to make something for the front of it to meet the tank nicely. Then it will need a good dose of filler to get it smooth. Then paint. Also need to make it stay on the bike somewhere in that process too.

anglia4
Have spent the night in the shed working on this beasty. Got a bit carried away with undoing the wiring ready for the new switches and thingys. I've ended up pretty much cutting off everything in front of the triple clamp It was a long slow process though of tracing wires, drawing diagrams and labelling things so that I can piece it back together with as much as I can hidden away. Does anybody have an old front mud guard lying around that I can trim up into a real short bugger for this build?
Chris.QCR
Looking good Jeff! I got a couple old alloy ones you can have for the cause
anglia4
Shit you get up early! That would be rad bro if you have got some! Pushing turbo hard to get it rideable by next weekend 'And on the eighth day, God rose up and proclaimed "LET THERE BE PINE!"'
anglia4
Just been chugging through a bit more of the wiring. Have got the new starter button and ignition key pretty much wired in. I plucked the steering lock bolt out of the ignition cos I'm mounting it beneath the battery and thought it would only cause problems. And then I did this: which has used exactly twice the amount of wrap which i had expected so i have only been able to do exactly one half of the job Will order more tomorrow... The state of our shed at the moment: The state of my bike at the moment: Going to go and look at getting a new (hopefully wider) rear tire. anglia4
Well. New tire is fitted. I have spent every night in the shed this week wiring and its nearly finished. So far everything still works, the oil pressure light did work, now it doesn't, not sure whats going on there but don't really care at this stage. Things to do before saturday: - finish mounting seat - make number plate bracket - install indicator switches - mount stop light - Re-install original mudguard cos I don't have time to finish the new one - WOF - Rego Not too big a list but with uni and work it is huge! anglia4
It runs! I got the thing going today and went to take it for a WOF but the motorbike testing man wasn't there. In this lot of mods I've moved the key Hidden the starter under the back (idea stolen from grant) Got rid of the Tach and a bunch of the crap in the cluster area New headlight There is still a huge amount of work to get it how I want it, but at least now it is rideable again and I can take smaller bites at the project from here, at least until I powdercoat the frame!
anglia4
Registered and Warranted Rideable project. All I had to do for the WOF was put on a mud guard and reflector I just screwed an old number plate to the back, painted it black and put a reflector on it. Job done and now removed

anglia4
its a carefully chosen angle of both bike and light I can assure you it looks like shit in person Yeah, I don't rev it hard enough to need the tacho aye. Might try and track down a smaller guage at some stage but for the mo that one isn't half bad
