karmagedon
Fark im sick of exhaust leaks. I think it is because the factory one has a solid mount from just under the first flange to the gearbox. I removed this for the new system. So what might be happening now is the vibration from the system is loosening the nuts and they keep falling off. So I need a suggestion on how to fix it. Please keep your biasestness aside. What would be best, putting a flexy joint in or going back to factory exhaust? Regard Dave
Simon
Flexy. Your exhaust should never be hard mounted to the body or you will get huge vibrations and resonance through the whole car. My AW11 was unbearable at 100k but i then just bent the hangers so it was hanging from rubber and it was fine.
karmagedon
So I put a flexy in. Better do the job. Time to save up some money again
UTERUS
You don't need a flexi aslong as the all the exhaust mounts have rubber isolating them from the body. All the aftermarket exhaust on my cars have never come undone and have been like this
xsspeed
dont know how much a flexi will do if you still have sold mounts, need some rubber hangers as said
karmagedon
I dont have any sort of solid mounting. The factory system does. I only have rubber hangers. Have flexy on here now. Will see how long it lasts
