fuel Posted June 4, 2009 Posted June 4, 2009 hey markku wheels are looking tits, bad luck about the strut and diff but I guess that's life. what happened with the SSRs from steve wilcock? Quote
kyteler Posted June 4, 2009 Posted June 4, 2009 It's such a race car. "Took it out, something broke, fixed it. Took it out, something broke, fixed it" Good stuff man. Must be a blast to race. Quote
Vintage Grumble Posted June 4, 2009 Posted June 4, 2009 Looks mean, wheels look nice and retro. Been round Taupo in it yet? Quote
Truenotch Posted June 5, 2009 Author Posted June 5, 2009 Yeah should be at taupo on the 21st (provided the tow car is going )... Looking forward to it! I've done track 2 in dads 86 road car but suspect this might be a bit different. It's such a race car. "Took it out, something broke, fixed it. Took it out, something broke, fixed it" Good stuff man. Must be a blast to race. ^ Thats been my life for the last few months.... Phil - the wheels weren't 8's and 9's (they were 7.5's and 8.5's) and the offset wasn't as aggressive as claimed, plus they didn't clear the wilwoods. Didn't end too well... Quote
xsspeed Posted June 5, 2009 Posted June 5, 2009 At least you now have those simmons, they look so sweet Just had another look at your thread, fuck I love this car. I need to start finishing some projects and save up so I can get one. Always wanted an ae86, ever since I had one of those squashed up looking toy car versions of them when I was a kid lol Quote
Sparkle Posted June 5, 2009 Posted June 5, 2009 wheels look way sweeter, poss better with grey centres? (such an o.s cliche thing to say I know) Or maybe black. Still fucken sweet though. Quote
Truenotch Posted June 5, 2009 Author Posted June 5, 2009 Yeah might re-paint them one day... they're almost brand new so no sense in ruining the gold. They'll probably go gunmetal one day. Quote
Vintage Grumble Posted June 9, 2009 Posted June 9, 2009 This is prolly a stupid question, but this cars running a hilux rear end ayy? so the front diff of a 4wd liteace has the same CW&P as a hilux? not a AE86? I thought I read somewhere that the liteace 4wd front CW&P would fit in a std AE86? I must be trippin. Quote
Honda Ass Dragger Posted June 9, 2009 Posted June 9, 2009 This car has t rear Lite ace vans have t series so put them together and wollah t series c&p supply Quote
Spencer Posted June 9, 2009 Posted June 9, 2009 yea those vans are T series front diff, F series rear. Quote
Vintage Grumble Posted June 9, 2009 Posted June 9, 2009 At the start in the specs its got "RE-SHIMMED Toyota Hilux Diff(LSD) with Disc brakes. Ratio =4.8" I dont know jack about this stuff, but dont hilux's have a G series diff? has it got a hilux head in a ae86 housing or some shit? (T = AE86 dont it?) Quote
Spencer Posted June 9, 2009 Posted June 9, 2009 ^ well he'd be doing dam well to smash a hilux CW & P with his 3S and liteace vans have a t series front diff, so I'd say that's incorrect Quote
Honda Ass Dragger Posted June 9, 2009 Posted June 9, 2009 Pretty sure Marku has made a typo then Quote
Simon Posted June 9, 2009 Posted June 9, 2009 I think he copied and pasted those specs off the Trademe auction. Quote
Truenotch Posted June 9, 2009 Author Posted June 9, 2009 Previous owner had no idea what was in the car really, some of those specs are from previous owners and some are invented I think. It's a T series rear end with floating axle setup, parallel 4 link mounts etc... I should probably edit that first post. Hilux diff would be far too heavy . Quote
Vintage Grumble Posted June 9, 2009 Posted June 9, 2009 Ohhhh, ok, thanks for clearing that up. How much do those liteace diff heads go for? Quote
