Unclejake Posted June 24, 2008 Posted June 24, 2008 Hard. I'm predicting the teg will be capable of low 25's on road tyres.n Phew.... Ritchie has the driving skills I think - but that is a big arsk out of a fwd 4clyinder road car. If anyone can do it he probably can (or at least he will get some cute chicks and enter/win a triathalon or two whilst trying) Quote
Requiemk Posted June 24, 2008 Posted June 24, 2008 if you guys think/not think he can do a time of that what will your car be capable of once done uj? Quote
Unclejake Posted June 24, 2008 Posted June 24, 2008 ^ I expect to be somewhere between high 1.23s and low 1.25s in the race car, on race rubber, with the bazillion dollar engine and 400lbs springs etc. My car couldn't be driven on the road as all your teeth would fall out - but I guess she is 45 years old with little brakes and no LSD. Truenotch Posted September 10, 2008 Author Posted September 10, 2008 Should really be in Project Discussion. But cheers man! It was a really good day out, great day for racing. Tell the father in law Cheers from me . Feel free to come have a chat whenever if you happen to be there at the same time as me. Quote
Snoozin Posted September 10, 2008 Posted September 10, 2008 Yeah some SWEET hot chips were going down at Garage Robin on the Sunday. Sweet. Anyway, looked good on the track, didn't any photo's due to lack of camera... and shit it's loud bro. So loud. Quote
Truenotch Posted September 11, 2008 Author Posted September 11, 2008 Garage Robin race development. Is it loud??? Sounds Mundane inside the car. Quote
Toucan Posted November 30, 2008 Posted November 30, 2008 Parking your racecar on the footpath to attract women, thats awesome It looks good man, red front lenses were a sweet finishing touch Quote
Vintage Grumble Posted November 30, 2008 Posted November 30, 2008 This car just keeps getting hotter and hotter! Just me being nosey, have you raced on track 2 at Taupo? if so, what kinda times have you done? Quote
mikuni Posted November 30, 2008 Posted November 30, 2008 looks awesome man. Might be just the pics but almost looks a little bit too gloss for the rest of the car. maybe needs more flatty? Quote
Truenotch Posted December 1, 2008 Author Posted December 1, 2008 Fuck D thats my mum! Yeah brad I'm considering going over it with a coat of Saturn black and no gloss... Or I'll just do a trackday with it and it will get a lot more dull , spraycans aren't ideal. nzdm - haven't taken this to Taupo yet so will have to see in march. What sort of times are you doing there? I think I want to aim for low 1:20's (1:20-25ish) but really have no idea what to expect. Quote
FLAWLES Posted December 1, 2008 Posted December 1, 2008 i knew that was your mum i miss her food ive said it once and i will say it agin LUCKY CUNT shame that you couldnt run with 14" rims cause i would have given you those slicks i have but i will keep them now Quote
Vintage Grumble Posted December 1, 2008 Posted December 1, 2008 Oh ok, Ive done a couple of "dual sprints" down there, and the best I have done is a 1:24, bit hard to drive with std seat tho, trying to hang on and drive at the same time aint easy! Quote
thegreatestben Posted December 1, 2008 Posted December 1, 2008 think front bumper needs saturn also. Tis a mean car either way Quote
Truenotch Posted December 1, 2008 Author Posted December 1, 2008 Oh ok, Ive done a couple of "dual sprints" down there, and the best I have done is a 1:24, bit hard to drive with std seat tho, trying to hang on and drive at the same time aint easy! 1:24 seems respectable compared to some of the Superlap cars times . I was hoping the car + me would be capable of doing a 1:20 around track 2... but it's hard to gauge having only driven there for 1 day in a standard 86, and not getting timed. Really have no idea. And you've settled it then Ben, I'll flatten the paint out next weekend and make sure it's not shiny. Quote
Vintage Grumble Posted December 1, 2008 Posted December 1, 2008 Yeh, you should be able to get into the low 1:20's easy, Track 2 is well suited to 86's and the like, not being a high speed track, I was really surprised what I could keep up with, seeing as mine is only a N/A 1600 road car. Quote
mikuni Posted December 6, 2008 Posted December 6, 2008 Sweet bumper looks heaps better. Kind of like it better without the black and red inserts in there. I almost think putting in a couple of air intake vent thinking might look cool and work well. Kind of like scaled down versions on the ones that go in the first shape integra type r. Quote
Truenotch Posted December 6, 2008 Author Posted December 6, 2008 Yeah I agree with you on that one. I have some really fine mesh out in the shed which will be cut to shape and painted black to replace the perspex corners, cutting mesh is far easier then re-making the 2 that got broken. Then will run brake ducts from the bottom 2 vents and a tow hook through one of the other holes. More pics up! Quote
