HighLUX
Bottom of the tank is pushed in a bit from the chassis sitting on the ground nothing too bad but would be nice to pop it back out before installing it. Anyone got ideas on how to fix it?
Roman
Take out the fuel drain plug and wind something in with same thread, give it a yank?
HighLUX
Sounds like an excellent idea as the dent is exactly where the drain plug is. Will borrow a slide hammer and give it a crack
UTERUS
fill it with fire
HighLUX
I was going to try that too, just like popping a tyre onto a rim

Popular Post governorsam
Speaking of fuel tanks, a mate's friend had used a handfull of Gravel to cleanup the inside of his tank. then the clever clod decided to suck out the gravel with the wife's vacuum cleaner. Boom! Sparks in the motor ignited the fumes and spread the cleaner across the entire yard. spam post....
governorsam
Also mabye compresed air to pop it out? if the tank is out, put the filler over an exhaust of a running car for about 10 minutes. will degass it so no boom. If empty. ling post...
downtrail
If your going to do any sort of fire related work with a tank either purge it with an innert gas ie argon or nitrogen or fill it completly with water to push vapor out.
Seedy Al
Im down for trying compressed air. But might be hard to seal tank up enough to get enough pressure In there.
bolo3
Fill with water and leave filled, then push in compressed air.Surprisingly don't need much pressure.
spiderwebfx
Could you not use a toilet plunger and give it a pull? I did this to a door on a ute, it didn't take the dent out completely but reduced it to about a quarter of it's original size.
flyingbrick
Crimp vent hose with vice grips. Drop a hand full of dry ice pellets. Replace gas cap. Walk away.
kempy
That might be a slightly controversial method But certainly worth a crack!
ajg193
Is that a pun about the ductile-brittle transition of the steel used in the fuel tank?
Ghostchips
i was thinking puncture CO2 canister from pellet gun and seal tank but that might be dumb too.

haurangi
Close all the holes up, fill it with water, plumb that up, pump up the pressure and hope you don't blow it up. /probably blow any gaskets out instead.
