Threeonthetree
I was wandering through the yard with Zebra Dude the other day and he mentioned that his friend had just picked up a V8 Mk I. Loving it! Oh I have a factory owner's manual for one of these too if you're interested? It's no use to me.

Loving it! Oh I have a factory owner's manual for one of these too if you're interested? It's no use to me. To be honest I had no intention of buying this! I went to the owners place to help get it running, and he offered it to me for a price I could not refuse. It is so well built, I had to have it That manual would be great, how can I contact you? Raddest one so far. You have a problem, sir. Hello group, my name is Conrad and I have a Transit problem There is a strange disconnect between this and my other project/toy which I have not been able to figure out. Oh well! flyingbrick
Wait.. Did the original van use escort flares too? That's so badass..can't believe how good they look on there!
locost_bryan
Wicked. When I was a kid in the early '70s, my cousin had a V8 powered flatbed Transit, and scared the crap out of me going sideways up Don Buck Dr in Massey in the wet. Have a soft spot for custom vans, having been a teen when "Chevy Van" was on the charts. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=imN48YKDHsQ

Been studying pics and video footage, and I am pretty sure they are Escort flares that have been modified to fit. Wicked. Check out some of this footage, such a badass van, and all in 1971

They totally suit the supervan look BTW. borrowed, but might be able to buy them. The tyre profile is a little bit low, but I thiink they would still pull off a pretty good impression of the origjnal.

xygtho
Loving the Supervan. You have to own those wheels. Had a friend many years ago with a SWB CF powered by a 454 Chev engine, it also had a set of massive Centrelines on it. Lets just say that the Kelly Super Charger rears offered the lads some serious white knuckle rides in the dry........ and in the wet it was a religious experience
