Vintage Grumble
The car looks a bit greener in those pics, its more beige in real lyfe, but yeh, the colour match rims and blue both look good. I'm not sure about browns, mainly because the interior is a fairly bright (yet dark) blue, and I think will look hag with brown? Looks waaaaaay better with light/softer coloured rims tho. I'm going to pop into bunnings on the way home and get colour charts, so I can show the painter what I want. When I decide.
Beaver
why not just spray bomb for ideas/it works perfectly fine anyway. bunnings have a decent selection. better than spending money getting a painter to match shit up and mix the paint and you realise it looks like crap
Vintage Grumble
I was gonna do it myself, and may still, but if I cant get the shade I want i'll get painter to do it. The best range of colours in can format are those duplicolor cans, but those suckers will cost me just as much as getting a painter to do it. Plus steel rims are a bit hard to paint with a can, trying to get paint into the folds without it running near by is quite hard.
mikuni
Those duplicolour cans go a long way. Unfortunately 1 can seems to do 3.5 wheels, even when you go pretty light. 2 cans will easily cover 4 wheels and the paint sets hard as. That's only about $30. keltik
I hate whitewalls so have no opinion.
Vintage Grumble
You're painting your scooter bright yellow, so you opinion was void anyway, puhuhuhuhuhuhuhuhu. Anyways, I have made my final decision, they will be done "Leigh" blue: http://www.dulux.co.nz/colour/colour-wall Off to the painters in the morning, weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee! HighLUX
This is going to be a sweet whip keen to inspect IRL. Any plans to get rid of the russian donk at some stage?
Vintage Grumble
Cheers boss! No plans to change the motor at this stage, the motor runs really well tbh (it has only done 38000 miles) Its pretty shit on gas tho, as I think a lot leaks out of the carb, haha, so will look into changing that maybe. In saying that, I have had ideas of putting a small rotang/large diesel/4age/holden v6 in it, if I find something gross, I may look into it. Not keen on changing the diff tho, and i'm told they are pretty weak. Found a new screen, $330 installed, so not to bad, but a bit of a costly fuck up. HighLUX
Looked into a 3s-fe from a townace noah? It wouldnt make diff eating power but sweet cruising economy. They manage to haul those ugly brick vans round alright
keltik
You seem to have misspelled 4A-GE
durty
2ZZ?
Vintage Grumble
I considered it. Dont know if lada diff could handle 2ZZ POWA, they like 190hp!!!!!!!!!!! Did toy with the idea of using my old ass link to run a home made injection manifold on the original engine, but prolly not worth the trouble. Not keen on changing the diff tho, and i'm told they are pretty weak.Yeah man, just chuck a 4age into it. It won't make too much more power than the lada lump, but it will be much more reliable and use less gas. At least you won't have to change the diff. Vintage Grumble
Yeh, would be the easiest swap. I think the lada motor makes 70hp? with a good amount of talks, 4age would be like 160 with no talks at all, haha. 4ages are pretty kind to running gear as they make no power till like 5K rpms. Unsure how diff and box would like doing 8500 rpm tho, as I wouldnt be able to stop myself. But anyways, wont happen for a long time, if ever at all. It needs a 5th gear more than anything to be honest.
durty
build up a 2age?
durty
and aren't 4ages like 120 hp?
Vintage Grumble
YOU HAVING A GO MATE! hehehe, first ones were 116hp I think, last one was said to be 165.
