Queens Birthday - Saturday June 4th - Wellington Event

Recommended Posts

I think $50 is still sweet. $100 between me and wifey is kind of getting up there though I guess. Not a huge cost compared to gettting down there/accomodation anyway, so if we did manage to get down there for the sake of a little bit etc I'd rather go all out, if you know what I mean. It is close ont he back of os nats which is good in enthusiasm level, but bad on the wallet.

It either needs to be an entire pig/sheep rotating on a cooking device to complement the pirate theme, or pizzas to be simple, cheap and easy. Nothing in between imo.

Yeah leaning towards the pizza thing now.. The main reason is I get the vibe it will be hard to sell 40 tickets at $50 each and much easier at $25 each..

Will still be a pirate themed treasure hunt and shindig - just not so much waving of legs of delicious roast meat. How does that sound?

If you like the idea then chuck down your names for tickets in this thread and I'll put your name in the Main Event Thread then PM you for some money in a couple weeks time..

The fact that doing pizzas is a shedload easier and requires much less work has nothing to do with my decision...... LOL

Bumpity bump - So who else is keen? Only 9 of you guys have chucked ya name down.

Not overly keen on booking the hall and then losing a swag of my own cash cos of lack of interest.

I'll need to book the hall early May - so to make sure I cover costs I'll need another 20 people chucking their name down in the next week or it gets canned. (need 30 people minimum)

Get into it guys - plenty of you asked for a Wellington weekend meet and HERE it is.

mr and mrs beaver will be there (will double check she is still keen asap, she just wants to dress up as a wench).

im down for whatever but can see the benefits of pizza and cheapness (plus I fucking love pizza when im boozed). would rather go all out on venue and good times etc and have pizza than have to tone down good times just to eat good/better chow.
