  1. Rather than the latest update - how about some historic pikkies Freshly restored in 1993 - before the rollcage went in a couple of months later. Looking flash with brand new 13 x 7 hotwires and RE71s 1994 at Mazda Manfeild A little later in 1994 - at Baypark - the flares went on so that the 9 inch "cheater" Hoosier slicks would fit under the guards

  2. So now we have a house with a bigger garage, ive got this at home. Stripped the interior out today as it was FULL of rat poos, old rubbish from the 80s, pictures of jeebus, pencils and 2c coins, and a rug with a tiger on it. floor looked good from underneath, and even better on top, its like a new one, sweet!

  5. Next plan- this is getting the engine out of my coupe, which was seized, pulled it apart and ordered a bunch of bits for it. When i bought the coupe, i had 3 at once so i did a big swap around, pinched all the good bits off the ute i had and sold it, and kept them for this car. So it will have a mild 318, with some small mods to make it a good family cruiser. 500cfm edelbrock carb, dual plane manifold, MSD ignition, headers, little cam, some 30 over magnum pistons which are a bit different to the original ones Have had wanky ideas of running a cat converter on it, i would like to see if i can get an old shitter like this to run close to clean as a modern car just to prove it can be done. And if it doesnt i can leave the cat off and say nothing and pretend it never happened.

  8. I fucked off the bogan wheels and got some 56 belair steels with spider caps and brand new dress rings. Now it looks like this The rings are ultra hard to get on and I don't trust them not to fly off, the caps need screwed on and there's not enough space to get a screw home. Also snow tyres ( sticky 195 60 15 Bridgestone blizzaks) another top purchase on my behalf (sarcasm) Brand new nuts from work look nice. Will try for blue walls next week but real understaffed at work so might be a push to get time (rage).

  11. Sweet Howe steering column Mount I picked up from Summit.. Got the front and rear wheels on.. Accelerator Pedal mounted - AU Falcon pedal, Suzuki swift cable. Exhaust MKII Forklift radiator, dowels through the bottom, and insulated with sway bar link Nolathanes up top R32 Skyline 4pot. Being locked diff the single 4 pot will suffice, if its too much then I can drop back to a 2pot using the same mounts.. Re-made seat brace, mounts and should seatbelt mounts. Driveshaft Loop Driveshaft Cover 3mm Plate Wilwood Reverse mount pedal Box. Before someone jumps in and informs me I cant use it. The Balance bar will be removed - and Im only running the single master cylinder for the brakes, clutch will still be utilised. - So it meets the rules as brake bias isn't allowed to be adjustible. Sat the Jig on the ground, tyres are just touching now, sat all the arms in place - but not bolted up tight

  14. Attempting to wake sleeping beauty hit a little snag Super winged sump hid a dirty little secret. The wing interfered with the starter motor and some fettling with a persuader (Aka hammer) revealed 1/2" of bog covering a leaking seam! This car needs to drive to Leadfoot (Feb 2015) so join the chorus to give Doug peerpressuremotivation...

  18. Looking forward to the next meet! After speaking to shane I reckon as the days get longer we should do some runs out of town. Kaiteriteri is close enough plus nice and quiet to do a mid week run for chips on the beach. Can plan more ideas next meet.

  20. I have so much respect for this build. There are so many epic builds on this site, but this one stands out as being a reserection from struggle street. I yearn to see this machine on the road. And hope you bring it to an old school nats, so I can shake your hand, and have a beer with you.

  22. 4 days from the Netherlands to Auckland. 3 days from one side of Auckland to the other, I guess traffic was bad? ha. BUT OH MY LOOK AT THE COLOUR The marks on the top of the tank are tape that's been on there for a good 30 years. Tried de-solv-it to no avail, any suggestions? Don't want to risk ruining the paint.

  23. If you're driving down Bealey Ave / Papanui Road in Christchurch today my apologies for the huge trail of oil... The diff decided some parts were better off outside of it's casing. Not really sure what/why happened yet. It's strange though because it made a loud clunk (I assumed it was just Chch's roads) and continued driving fine but then I noticed the oil pressure light come on so stopped. Will have to take the motor out and split the block and gearbox. Luckily I have a spare gearbox but it's a pain

  25. Engine + cooler took 5l of 10w30 Running, need timing light to time it a bit better now, this running straight of the stab. Oil pressure sweet as. Temp sitting over 100 n not going down so needa look into shitty old sender unit, timing, and thermo. But all in all good result, im stoked that engine runs as it was a bit of a gamble purchase. Gaz

  26. Looks like a good base . Mine has reset springs 2" lowered Gaz adjustable shocks all round and 2" lowered in the front not sure what type of spring rate I run in the front but they are a light bule colour. As for brakes I just have 9" drums in the rear and carpi vented disks in the front with the spacer kit for a M16 and Freddo DS 2500 brake pads and have never run out of brakes yet.
