  2. Interesting about the shape of the collector. Eager to see how it works out. You weren't keen to try a basic FEA simulation? Have you seen this? Burns stainless have an adjustable collector you can buy to tune before settling on a solution. It may shed some light on different geometries.

  4. Yeah this is exactly what I’ve found. They need silly gaps >100mm between bends to re-clamp before the next bend. So I’ll do it the old fashioned way. On a twist of fate I’ve also found the tube I have is different centre line radius to my kinex blocks. This is helpful for fitment but makes my primary lengths out as a 180deg bend is like 80% the volume of the larger CLR. Im planning to use my daughter’s sandpit sand as a measurement of volume to double check everything before I weld…
  5. I borrowed some 14's off a chap to see the rough state of play; Current 13x5 ET25 Lancia 14x5 ET45 - I like the look but that offset is a hard no Fiat steels, 14x5.5 ET28 (ish, I couldnt find markings so did a roughy measurement). These fill the arches nicely but I have never liked this style and they are heavy as fuck. I am leaning pretty heavily to some 5.5 or 6 steels with the RWD offset, but in the holey style if @azzurro will sell me some Altho a man with a Maserati has told me he has some of those mint rims then ghosted me The search continues.
  6. Can anyone remember whether the Aussie Cortina sixes had Falcon brakes fitted? Uncle had a Mk4 4.1 Ghia back in the day. Fairly sure he said there was a lot of Falcon stuff in it.
  7. Not much to report gentle readers, The island ran out of petrol a couple of weeks ago so I can't use the generator much, can't cut firewood and lawns can get fucked. We do still have a little diesel but I've been feeding the JCB 50% diesel and 50% jet fuel (I had some left over from a helicopter project) Today's mission was a tank stand for water header tanks. Hoping to finish that tomorrow. TBC. Ha.
  8. Update: new voltage regulator and we have charge!
  9. Chocolate fish to @brocky41 My mrs has a mk4, 289 + kitted C4, was built in the 80s and on declaration papers. We recently rebuilt it oversize, alloy heads, isky cam,MSD etc..its snappy as fuck with old tyres. I think Bronco sump is the one you need to make life easier. Falcon brakes and such are easy upgrade. Theres a facebook page ‘V8 Only Cortina info, discussions and sales’ which is ozzy based but answers most questions.
  10. Thick black shaft in hand. Looks less girthy because its cold. New UJ's at both ends, new yoke (this was about half the bill), balanced, painted. Looks the part! Have installed it so its all looking positive. Used Drive Inn, as theyre down the road from us. Aiden did a E30 driveshaft for me many moons ago, so went back to him for this. Happy it didnt need any shortening.
  11. Its just a VT ecotec or supercharged v6 PCM be cool if I could find one with the NVRAM already fitted from someone going to an aftermarket ECU.
  12. Ling post probably, but I had a police VT ecu. But I think I moved it on.
  13. Was just admiring your chaser and had a thought to mention that your cassette player likely just has stretched belts, any old barry hi fi repair place thats been open for long enough should be able to help with generic replacements. Often if you just pull a few other cassette players apart youll eventually find the lengths you need.

  15. Whats the details on that ECU I can have a look over here in Ozzieland if you like?
  16. Starting to find flash tuning annoying on lookout for VT ECU as you can fit an NVRAM Board and do live tuning bit pricey though. Will see if I can get tune nailed before I can afford the parts if so I'll not bother. Vk327 mentioned this about 5 pages back might be worth doing. Also big box of heat management stuff on way, seems ok engine bay temps aren't terrible but won't hurt anything been cooler.
  17. Awesome car dude. Always had a soft spot for Subarus. Dad rallied/hillclimbed an RS Legacy for years (and a Leone before that). The Legacy was pretty much stock except for RA/Sti C/R Gear kit and diffs etc. Punched well above its weight. I drove it on my learners not long before he sold up and hung up the helmet. Shat myself how quickly it came on boost with the gearset etc. Was a lesson on how gearing can make a huge difference to a car. Your car definitely brings back memories of going to watch him race and seeing lots of 90's Impreza's, Evo's etc. etc. If I won lotto a tidy GC8 Impreza would definitely be in the Garage.
  18. Oh hi. Looks like I'm going to be in town for the night Thursday 20th June. Anyone want to catch up and hold hands? Assuming you will have recovered from the fishermans table seafood chowder by then anyway.
  19. They look the business, but there is no way I can hide that sort of expenditure from my wife.
  20. cheers for that i will go talk to terry when hes in office next a few people i have talked to have said just buy one already done but whats the fun in that i want to be a big part in this project.
