cletus
Well that's dumb. Is the piston ok? Fix valve and try again? At least it looks like your gasket goo made the head gasket stick good

peteretep
How do you get on with painting small stuff like your air filter housing? You eyecrometer the amount of paint you need then there is a bit of wastage on the paint? Then aim down so you dont need to mask off the entire area? Looks lush
sheepers
yea pretty much. colour you can put back in the tin what you dont use and once you've sprayed the colour you have a rough idea how much clear you'll need. im just using cheap clear for engine bits and that so its no drama if a tiny bit goes in the bin. i would say i mixed about 20mils to much clear so i got it fairly close. probably only had one instance that i can think of where i wasted a bunch of clear.

The colour is thinned 1 to 1 but you can put a little bit back in the tin that's been thinned, it won't affect it.
