Popular Post BlownCorona
Reminds me that a while ago I asked about having library shelves machined. Well I decided that I wanted to do it all by hand since I'd always told my wife I would build her a library (not assemble her one) It's kinda messy at the moment because she's part way through post grad studies and there are a bunch of new books that need filing which means moving every book lol The large framed cartoon was designed (and tattooed) by her tattoo artist to resemble her, I also turned it into a stamp. It's not quite finished, I need to decide on what I'm going to do with the shelf edges, and I'm on the hunt for a structurally sound but old wooden ladder to fit with a rail. I'm quite happy with how many husbands get in trouble when their wives see it. Makes for an excellent space whenever I get to work from home. The work office sucks, our library is quite possibly one of the nicest environments I've ever been in (when not in messy Xmas holidays mode)
ajg193
How did you make the stamp?
Popular Post BlownCorona
vista print do them for office purposes. from memory their website even has the tool to convert an image into the line with various sliders to to get it right. https://www.vistaprint.co.nz/stationery/stamps/self-inking-stamps nearly made her cry for $15 i also played pretend engineer and designed the whole lot on fusion 360. i modeled the room dimensions and did it this way for two reasons. firstly to get a feel for spacings and to play with colours and secondly so that i could tweak dimensions to maximize the sheet usage. i ended up with a tiny amount of wastage which i turned into a pretty decent shoe rack.
NickJ
Thats a sweet shelf and suits the room, no way I could have filled the design brief with the hand tools I own, fortunately cnc makes me the carpenter i’m not. Machine is now set up to take a full sheet of ply however the geometry doesn’t allow the spindle to traverse the full 1240mm. Have you had a play with the arrange tool? Quite handy for working out nesting from available stock and then makes machining simple (aka all delays are very much self inflicted)
BlownCorona
didnt even know it existed! i did all the arranging the old fashioned way. thats super cool and will be usefull for other jobs (on my little cnc where space really matters) you also make a good point, i did not achieve the above at home with a drill and a rusty saw, lucky for me, my workplace has a full woodworking bay and i made good use of the large table saw and router table.
Popular Post Hurmeez
Made a little group project trophy/keepsake for a co-worker who was moving on. Each little figurine represents a project he had an especially large part in the success of. *I did the figurines. The "rustic" plaques were supplied to me at the absolute last minute.

Popular Post sheepers
I made a thing to store firewood for the winter. The shelfs are for kindling and small stuff. Is 600 deep by 4.5 long by 2.4 high because that's the space I had. I need another sheet of ply for the roof but the rest of it is finished. I'm stoked with it actually.

Popular Post yoeddynz
Had this old picnic table for 10 years, was given to us by friends at a campground so it's proper old, bowed, rustic and full of engravings from lots of campers over the decades. But heavy, in the way and not used by us so we chopped it up this arvo. (using our other younger table as today's bench)..

Popular Post yoeddynz
Couldn't stop there. Need a place for coffee mugs.. It's a nice little spot now. We are owed a whole load of macrocarpa from a customer so will soon build bench seating along the back.
Popular Post sheepers
Our new oven came with a huge waste of space under it so I drew up a drawer with wheels on the corners and I got it cut and folded. Then I welded it together. Its designed so the wheel brackets slot into the sides and base but it doesn't need welding, that way I can change the wheels if I ever need to. 37
h4nd
Some small car enhancements, as opposed to some small car enhancements: Prius rear-view was vibrating a little on the trapezoid mount on the windscreen. This is a toyerda. We don't need that crap. we have other crap to enjoy. I got a bit of random skanky hose, put a scallop cut in one end to nudge the mirror stem. Boom. I now have crystal clear view of the cops following me who have zero interest in the Prius I'm driving. I'd cut down an window shade for the Dai, but it's missing a sun visor to hold the passenger side, so I hot-gooed some left-over Neodymium magnets to it. Now I don't have to bother fixing the actual problem:
