shaneo
Cheers man, still a bit more work to tidy them up and match the drivers side before i prime. First/last time i shape flares Not 100% sure on the color, always changing my mind. Not even sure if i want it dark like Gun metal grey, or light like the orange thats on there now. Have to choose carefully because theres no windows to break it up. Have even contemplated oldschool stripes or signwriting, to help break up that area I have just seen the mock up for my Van and its really cool the sign writer is a member.member. Dont go white its dirty every second day.

Dont go white its dirty every second day. We used to have a few white vans back in the day and thats exactly the reason im not going white, everything shows up. Was thinking sign writing like this Look forward to seeing yours
Beaver
Does anyone know if 1300 sumps fit straight onto the 1600? I seem to recal somthign about crank and/or oil pickup hitting the sump when using a 1300 sump on a 1600.
Raizer
The 1600 crank hits the bottom and possibly the sides in some spots. Take your time with a big hammer and the 1300 sump can be made to fit, pick up is sweet as.
bmxnz11
If i'm going to panel beat one i might was well do the 1600. Its had its fair share of off roading. Was hoping to be lazy and pop on the 1300 i have. Cheers for that guys
xygtho
Ideally 1600 sump for the win. as Raizer says, 1300 can be made to fit, but if you have 1600, then roll with it
shaneo
You need a 1600 sump 1300 sumps dont fit
Raizer
Shit, then I must have imagined spending 30 minutes hammering my 1300 sump which I ran on my 1600 for several years. Several mates of mine must also have not used 1300 sumps on there 1600s either. Lol
cletus
when i was a youngin i learned the hard way by pulling the engine out 3 times, that you can fit the 1300 sump by dinging it in the right places, but the knocking noise from the 1300 pickup hitting one of the conrods will make you think the sump is at fault, haha

bmxnz11
Holy shit dude, that is looking legit! Good work! Cheers man, took me long enough ha have a NOS drivers door if you are keen or anyone else? has one small dent. Welded or bolt on hinges? fucking hell man, that's great work on the rear doors, the bugs doors need work like that, not looking forward to it. keep going, you must be nearly there? Cheers man. Oddly enough those rust repairs i enjoyed doing, maybe just because of the reward seeing it all line up together so well. Its well worth doing knowing you wont have that problem again. Used a mates folder which gave a much better finish. One last big repair to do below the rear doors, can see how wobbly it is in some of the photos. Its been hit and had things dropped onto it and then filled with lead. After that its a whole lot of shaping and sanding getting it ready for paint. bmxnz11
Just picked up a sport gearbox in the weekend among other parts, was a nice surprise. Only going by the solid alloy tail housing though, type E, on the burton site. Numbers on the box aren't bringing up anything. Full sport running gear now.
