kyteler
I have about 3.3m slab to rafter gap at the lowest point and if the outside height of the slab the shed it on is consistent across the width I have roughly 210-225mm. Should be pretty okee dokee, yeah?
Bling
Only guessing as can't see how it's formed, but i'd 'guess' the pad will be thinner. Only 100% sure way is to drill a hole for depth. Perhaps they did slabs differently back in the day though. But everything i've ever seen has footings around the edge for the weight of the walls / roof that sits on it. http://images.doityourself.com/stry/g-a.gif
kyteler
Yeah, planned to drill down regardless just for peace of mind.
evil_si
My old garage slab was 200mm on the perimeter footing /where the concrete had overflowed, and only 50-60mm over the pad it self It wasn't thick enough to secure my linisher properly, and cracked around it after some decent use
thorburnville
I purchased one of the cheapy single phase peak clear floor hoists from gdc. Hasn't disappoint me yet(apart from 19mm dynabolts, good luck trying to find a 19mm masonary drill)The instructions recommend 200mm of a certain density. GDC said 100mm would be fine and so did the installer I spoke to.Lift time isn't noticeably longer then any 3 phase hoist.

stillway
had a quick skim through - only thing I'd add is I wish I put few extra power points on the hoist side of the shed when it was built. other than that looks solid.
HighLUX
electric winch mounted to the concrete against the rear wall would be a sweet idea for when you have a shitty old car with half flat tyres semi seized brakes/wheelbearings and nobody around to help push it in the shed
