mark105
I've been battling with the chrome for the front and the back of the skyline for a while now. I have all the bits but they bent to all hell. They are stainless and i have taken them to various people who many are not keen to even touch them after i tell them the likely hood of me finding another set. And coupled with how much work it is going to be to strighten them if its even possible. So i have thought about these from Japan http://www.restored.jp/gc110morl.html Biggest thing is if i get them chromed up or not, as as just carbon fibre it is $600 for the front and back set but if i was to get them chromed in Japan also the price jumps to $2000 for the set. So is any one aware of any where locally who may be able to do such a job? Need ideas here please.
tortron
Perhaps ask a place that does the "plastic" chroming. I.e. The ones that spray goop over whatecer you want, then apply chrome. Pretty sure a place in hamilton does it
Poo
Fix what you got. I would pay a visit to Peter Jordan. Ive seen that man make a Rolls Royce panel from a flat piece of alloy. Sheepers will back me up on this. His son Greg runs the shop now. Call and ask for Peter. http://www.jordanpb.co.nz/
RUNAMUCK
Or Max Wildermoth in CHCH. He's a real nice old bloke who sits at his bench on a stool, and tap tap taps shit until it's the right shape again.
Ghostchips
i used that stick on chrome vinyl wrap on rusty bogged painted bumpers that might work for you if you get the carbon fibre. Was $50 for over a meter of it so you would have heaps left over for when it fades/peels eventually. Ok not the best idea ever but it might work. Steelies
105 remember we've got tamed sign writers down here, they vinyl the shit out of everything. even recently did their work wagon in matt black cos it was easier than painting among other reasons haha
Brock-Lee
I was yarning to said friendly signwriters about chrome wrap and the general theme was that it makes things look kinda shiny but for replacing actual chrome it misses the mark. You cant get that suuper flat mirror spec finish so it ends up looking orange peely and shit. It will be 1/67th the price of actually chroming things but only looks 1/54th as cool. mark105
I guess I could flag the chrome option all together and just paint them the body color. Would still look better than gaps at the front and back. I don't think chrome vinyl is going to cut it would do the paint option first I think. Yowzer
I think it'd look cool left as carbon fibre. Gives it some good contrast.
mikuni
I think bare carbon would probably look better than body colour bumpers. Sure carbon is a bit wank, but if its real carbon fibre and not a wrap I think an old car in a semi-race style like yours can pull it off. Best example I can find in a quick search. I like black bumpers.
Brock-Lee
Carbon would look cool but damn shiny shiny chrome looks the biz
mark105
Yeah given the color of the car could pull off straight carbon quite well. Would likely match grille and lip also. Yes it is real carbon. Restored only do legit stuff that's why they are awesome. Do like those black bumpers Brad. Could work well.

Threeonthetree
Signwise have chrome vinyl wrapped their promotional vehicle. I dirve past it regularly and it looks okay (when they bother to clean it).
