and i am.

having been to almost every continent on this planet but never having been to the south island its high time i went.

my plan is this, to drive from my house to invercargill and back in my RA28.

ill be leaving AK on the 26th of november and back on the 10th of december.

i would like to meet and spend a day or so with some of the old school people throughout the country. i have no plan to be anywhere in particular at any given time, just curze where the next place to see is. i have two weeks to make it there and back, ill be traveling light and crashing on couches if i can.

i have no idea how ill organise myself to meet up with people along the way but im sure ill figure something out.

ill probably spend a couple of days in places like wellers, dunners, christers, invers, that sort of thing.

ill try to keep this thread updated with my progress and some pics of the journey but obviously i wont have internet so that might be a bit of a difficult one?

anywho, hopefully ill be in your town at some point and we can meet up for a yarn/beer.

post up something if i can crash at your place or if youd like to have a look at the car on my way through. like i say, no plans really.

I do a south island trip in my Charger each year. Great fun, last year I went all the way from Auckland to Bluff. This year I am only going from Auckland to Oamaru, I leave Auckland on the 19th of October and get back on the 29th of October. Crap, that is only a month away now.

Last year I went in a convoy with 7 Valiant Chargers, a Valiant AP6 safari, a Plymouth Fury and a Plymouth Road Runner. For pics of last years trip click here http://www.rpmphotography.co.nz/index.p ... wer-Cruise

I took a vodafone vodem with me so I could do daily updates on the mopar forum, it is a bit long winded but worth a read. http://www.nzmoparforum.co.nz/index.php?topic=7003.0

You gunna get some of those horns?

Plus I'm keen to arrange a meet to coincide with your Wellington visit plus you can come to Pinkys for Wednesday night projects/beers. So make sure your Wellington days are Tuesday and Wednesday or Wednesday and Thursday. (I doubt you will be in Wellington on a weekend will you?)

I drove from Auckland to Bluff a few years back in an Austin Allegro. Was a great trip. Definatly worth it. Take a GPS and go exploring some back roads. You never know what you mite find parked up behind some inbred farmers old barn.
